So what's this I hear about Benny Hinn, Paula White, Joyce Meyers, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, and Eddie Long being investigated for" alleged financial wrongdoing"?

Ahhhh... couldn't happen to nicer people. Now if only lonely unhappy and ignorant people would stop sending them money... I am surprised not see John Hagee, James Kennedy and Paul Crouch... and who is that other quack...? Rod Parsley! oh yeah, and Joel Osteen. Check out how many of God's ministers are ripping off the flock... check out how much they are making!

What did they think? That they could hide from God?? Maybe they should read the Bibles they are holding while they blab and blab...

I'm just upset that these people continue to give others the wrong ideas that THEY represent God... NOT!

Well... you should see the same thread on the WOF forum (Word of Faith... whatever that is)

They are all in support of Copeland and the others. Money is good, God is prospering them, why shouldn't they enjoy the fruits of their labors "in the Lord", etc.

They need to add Joel Osteen to the list.

Agree that it's sad that these so called evangelists prey on people that are unhappy and vulnerable. I hope they get what's coming to them.

I know so many people from my church (mostly women) who were really into Joyce Meyers. I finally checked out her show one morning, and I was rather appalled at the flagrant fund-raising and the prosperity gospel being preached. It surprised me considering how conservative my church tends to be. I have no use for preachers like this.

Paula White's Church without Walls is in my area..

No, I've never been there....

But of course it was all over news when it was revealed how they were being investigated.

They showed clips of their sermons..actually I should say clips of several different sermons where the instruction was "Give 10% of your gross income". In those exact words.

Now, I know we are to tithe. duh. But where in the Bible does it same 10% Of your *gross* income?

Paula too, huh? I liked her. Her story of abuse so sad...and her will to survive. Hopefully she ain't that shiesty....

Why do you believe her stories of abuse? They sure make for a good "salvation" story don't they?
I am fascinated by her divorce... going different directions? God the author of confusion?

Sad we have to be so skeptical, but when they start putting their hands in to our pockets through "God Guilt"... I say scrutinize scrutinize scrutinize...!

As I am sure she (or her public relations person) would say: it isn't about her, she doesn't claim to be perfect, this is all about the message, blah blah blah... but keep sending her your money... er... I mean tax deductible donations to help starving, homeless and battered women. Five shows a week, buy your tickets early...
