TBN... False doctrines?

I've said that quite a few times myself. Some of the things are so "incredible", you want to think that people aren't actually believing some of that stuff. Yet sadly, many do.

When you're feeling that conviction, see if what you're seeing/hearing is in line with the Word. If not, you'll know why.

at our old church the Pastor was at up at the podeum and he said" if your for me,stand up" um,hello. We are for God not man,it was a rich church that constantly pulled this type of garage. Besides the fact that they did not let you in leadership unless it met their requirements. Finally I said" SEE YA".

God will bring to light and God will execute judgement, God will discern what is right or wrong, you are the ones who no nothing by yourselves and can do nothing by yourselves. if you have a problem, pray about it.
but these people are accountable to God, not to any of us.

If God specificly tells you to go and tell someone something, then you doit, and the end result is still up that person and God, not anyone else.
But God is the only one who knows anything, or can do anything, we are all helpless sensless people, the only one who can do anything about anything is God.

please remember that the bible says
speak evil of no man.
to love your enemies and pray for them.
however your treating people, your doing that to someone God loves.
that noahs son got cursed becuase he felt he needed to hold someone accountable.
that samuel knew eli was wrong and was going to be judged, but was still afraid to speak becuase he was humble, and it really wasnt anything to with him.
and not sit in the seat of the scornful.

the truth is,
many people hide pride and hatred, under the mask of being concerned about the truth and people.

i remember the words of Jesus, concerning the pharisees and the things they said.
he told his disciples to LEAVE THEM BE, for they are blind teachers of the blind. he did not tell them to go put them in their place and make sure everyone knew.

you have to be careful how you deal with people who are wrong.
becuase if you begin be hateful, puffed up in pride, begin to scorn, God will remove the blessing off of your life. becuase it was nothing but grace that made you any diffrent, and peoples failures are not an excuse to get our kicks off of them, when thats really what alot of people are doing.

i just think we need to ask ourselves, has God really told us to get involved, or do we just want say or do something to them?

i think we should all feel uneasy when it comes to putting people in their place, becuase deep down we know, that God is master when we are just little toy soilders who really know nothing and amount to nothing by ourselves.
we really dont have the right to correct each other.

if a man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.

if you think someone needs to be judged, then fine think that.
but it still doesnt have anything to do with you, and you are obligated to walk in love toward that person and to realise that without grace youd be doing something worse.

the point is, i dont want to see anyone judged, becuase i love those people.
i dont want to see anyone exposed becuase i love them.
and i dont enjoy talking about their failures becuase i love them.
and id rather have God cover em and make em look good before men, because love covers a multitude of sin.

i just dont want to be a part of these little critical gossip groups where people talk about other people and get all puffed up and laugh and have fun at others expense, becuase lightning could strike to put me in my place.

And you can be sure they will be held accountable. Not only the network but those preachers who use the Lord's name for financial gain or to preach false doctrine....but it will be He who will tend to them based on the fruits they produce.

Homebound, I think it's wonderful though to see that you're not one who's been caught up in the mumbo jumbo some of them are preaching.

I personally turn the tv IMMEDIATELY when Hinn comes on. I don't agree with what he's about or teaching. However, whenever Joel Osteen comes on, I'm all in it and have heard him preach many times

Homebound, I'd be very interested in hearing what you have to say about Dollar and what he said that made you put him in the category with Hinn. I haven't seen him preach as much as Joel Osteen. I do get Creflo Dollar's free magazine and find quite a bit of useful information in it.

Meant to add that I used to be a big TD Jakes fan on TBN, but his preaching has gotten so showy (what appears to ME personally). Hope I didn't offend anyone, but that applies to my own likes and dislikes. Not judging anyone who does watch him.

I haven't seen anyone laughing or getting "puffed up" in this thread. What I have seen is disgust at the false doctrine to the bizarre things that spew forth from this network.

This is a dangerous thing for people who are on the fence about coming to Christ or who are new Christians in particular. No one is trying to "put people in their place" rather they don't want to see people being mislead into a place that can be avoided. You don't let the wolves tend the sheep.

Rebuking, correcting, and warning others of false teachings is not speaking evil of others. It is speaking love, and showing concern, not only for the ones hearing, but also for the ones teaching the false doctrine.

I did not say what I did out of hatred of any person. I do hate false doctrine, because it draws people away from God.

A question was asked, and I answered, after I prayed and gave it some thought. Nowhere did I attack anyone personally. However, I will zealously guard the oracles of God, for they are Life.

And when someone distorts and wrenches the Scriptures to the detriment of others, I must speak up. Denying the Trinity, and claiming the Lord has said something that fails to come to pass falls into this category. I am sorry if this offends you.

Definitely NO denying that one. As babes in Christ people are very hungry for the word and could feed on the false doctrine of some and they may not know the preachings are in error.

Is there enough good programming on the skyangel stations to warrant the expense? What do you like on it? I'm curious because I was thinking of getting it but I'm afraid it will be like having 20 different TBN channels. Also, if you don't mind telling a little about it, what is the commercial content like? Is it roughly the same kind of commercials that you see on network t.v. or other cable stations on regular cable? Local commercials? Christian commercials? Sorry, but commercials are a big deal to me as that is a big part of television that I find distasteful enough to not have t.v. at all.

well the commericials are very tastesful. Basic commericials,nothing trying to sell sex and such.There are radio stations on their that you can run through your stereo.The shows that I was talking about was ,like Dollar-(I have just never been sure of him) the end times shows (prophecy) there are a couple of preachers (Benny Hinn and such)but I can't think of their names right off,,SkyAngel is very safe and both my children watch it. You will see nothing that your children shouldn't be watching on this satellite.They have a few kids stations also.They play Davey and Goilath all the time.Yeah,get online at their website and order.. Just remember Jesus said we would have false prophets and believe me they come in sheeps clothing. Hard to spot them coming.

forgot to mention if your into comedy they have a great clean fun comedy show called Bananas that even your kids can watch,like the evening at the Improv. Rememberr that show? Well this has good clean jokes and nothing else. If you have teens they are always having shows on for the youth. They have 2 or 3 Christian Music video shows.Cool cartoons for the kids. 700 Club,baking and hunting shows the list goes on and on. It's 11 dollars a month and it's worth it.

How? The people who preach on TBN basically make TBN.

I've always had a bad feeling about TBN. They're always asking for money. Benny Hinn shoves ppl to the ground. When he starts speaking in tongues (no offense to those who might do this) it scares me. I have a feeling some of the money sent to TBN goes to Jans wigs lol. Anyways, I just have to say that I dont watch TBN very much because I dont trust it. And after reading that, I dont want to watch it even more!

You cantput all the blame on every preacher thats on tbn,you will find people that teach false doctrine on any religion based tv.There are some that are on tbn that i think are great and i enjoy watching and hearing there messege,others i turn off as soon as i see them.You are going to have programs on every channel you like and dislike that dosent make everyone on there bad.
My advice would be if you dont like it ,dont watch it,or just watch the ones you like.
