Take Back The Forum Progs!!

This car-wreck needs to stop and the sooner the better.

Here is what needs to be done:

1.) Get rid of this new rule system and call it for what it is-a horrible mistake.

2.) Get rid of SDA mods.

We were doing just fine with Longhair and the rest, contrary to the whines and protests of certain ones.

I publicly repent for contributing to the voting in of SDA mods. It was a huge mistake, and I renounce ever having a hand in giving SDA's control here.

3.) Reinstate the old CF rule system over-seen by non-SDA mods.

4.) Those Progs who supported and voted in this travesty need to repent in dust and ashes. Those Progs who have had a hand in implementing this new system and now have left this place for other forums, leaving us with this mess, need to return and align with the freedom fighters and dismantle the monster which they helped create!

This is the only way. Nothing less will be adequate. No refining, tweaking or tinkering with the new system will ever help. This matter is beyond help and no amount of re-adjusting the deck furniture will stop this forum Titanic from sinking. What kind of a place has this become!? SDA mods marching up and down the walls of the forum compound day and night, ready to unleash the attack German Shepherd's of FSB warnings on a moments notice, shining the spotlight of censorship on the Progs from the guntowers and mowing them down with the machine-guns of FSB's. And finally, when none of that works, the herd us into the shower-room of the Prog subforum and release the poison gas of threats and intimidation.

Take back your forum home Progs! Cast off the shackles of Trad tyranny and make your voices heard! The time is now to rebel and retaliate!!! FORUM FREEEEEEDOOOOMMM!!!!

Down with the new system I say!!! Tear it down like the Berlin wall and relegate it to the trash heap of bad ideas!!!

Night... this is our forum.... right here, where we can discuss what we wish, where the rules are simple.... so what is it that you are trying to "take back?" You stated you wanted your own place so enjoy what you have here.... unless you aren't content with the atmosphere here and feel the need to be butting heads with those who don't share your views..... Socrates was correct when he said, "those who are not content with what they have will not be content with what they don't have....."

Why should we be satisfied with a small corner of this whole forum? Are we dogs that we pant happily when they throw us a few crumbs from the table?

You forget that they were never happy with our declaring independence and autonomy. Indeed, they are still upset about it. And anyways, the only way we were able to secure our independence was to do so through a process that was basically the equivalent of a salmon swimming upstream. Barbs and shouts of 'offshoots' were leveled against us and we were falsely accused of 'separating from the church'. Those cries came from some of the mods as well as you recall. Or have you forgotten all of that opposition we faced?

Mark my words, this Prog subforum is a thorn, a blight, a blemish on the pristine face of what is a predominately conservative/Trad-oriented forum. It is in thier best interests to find some way to bring this subforum under the fist of thier control. It is only a matter of time before they find some loophole, some wording in the rule system that will allow them to finally take over this place as well and enforce thier rules on us here as well. We get too comfortable and lose our edge at our own peril. Like the sentry who falls asleep at his post, we let our guard down and they will find a way to take over this place as well. Certain ones on this forum will never be happy until this hotbed of unorthodox free-speech is obliterated from here forever. We are a threat you see, and a danger to thier agenda to convert visitors here to the Trad viewpoint.

It is my right to protest this new system as someone who never wanted all of these rules in the first place. What is this lunacy and hypocrisy that only allows the Trad viewpoint in the main forum while any other views are crushed out and thier carcasses are cast into the debate subforum, a place where you can still be nailed for the things you say or for challenging the Trad party line? Now we cannot even call heresy for what it is out there. Is this the way the forum was meant to be conducted? No. It is not fair and it is oppression and censorship. I will fight against it and whoever wants to join the crusade is welcome!

interesting Night..... have fun on your crusade.... there are too many other forums on the internet that allow you to voice whatever your opinion happens to be, and never give you grief.. I belong to a few... so its no biggie for me.....

Though it appears you cannot make up your mind. When the traditionals were giving you grief you wanted your own area, now that you have your own area you are talking about "taking back" the forum.... do you see the problem?

I have never been happy with the Trad party-line being the only accepted one out there. I wanted this subforum as a temporary refuge from the intolerance, attacks and FSB's, yes, and it is doing that well. But this was never the scenario that I envisioned as being the ultimate, ideal goal.

It's a matter of principal Stormy. It would be easy to bail out and go to a more free place of dialogue, certainly. How is that not just giving them what they want on a silver platter? Why make it easy for them to take over this place completely? That is foolishness.

Just like the Trads who still hang around here even though they could go to Remnant Online or Revival Sermons, I, too, choose to stay and fight for my rights here.

That is the 'death' I was referring to.

And it will indeed be a glorious death if it in any way aids this place in finally getting back to the way things were before this new system took over!

Have you read the Trad's point of view on the rules? They still by and large like them. Since they have the votes they have the power.

If you wanted to fight on their level then you simply start to report them like crazy until they get tired of the rules. As it is most of us never report them so they think the rules are fine. But then sinking to their level is usually not the answer.

You are missing the point Moicherie. Igorning them, while it would save me countless typing minutes, would do nothing to improve this forum and aid in bringing it back to what it should be. I refuse to simply roll over and give them total control over this place, allowing the Trad spew to reign unabated and unchallenged. It has nothing to do with changing thier views or minds, because I know that is never going to happen.

This is an issue of PRINICIPAL.

This is supposed to be a place of free discussion, ALL OF IT, not just this subforum. It is our right to have some concessions made for our Adventist subgroup and this is certainly not being done in any capacity. We have both Trads and Progs here, and we Progs are being handed a raw deal and we are taking it without a fight. Nothing is being done to accomodate us in other areas of this site. TSDA dogma rules the day, and we are continually and incessantly smacked in the nose with a rolled newspaper and scolded, told to get in the debate subforum where we belong. Oh wait, that does not an ounce of good anyhow, because challenging Trad dogma is not tolerated there any more than it is in the main forum!

We stupidly went and handed control over to a select few Trad mods and now we have this ridiculous rule system which has resulted in three Progs being confined and jailed in this subforum like some caged animals. In fact, you yourself only have one more RV to go and you will be joining us in exile.

None of this would have ever remotely even come close to happening under the old rule system.

Oh no, this is going to be fought, and bitterly. I, personally, will not stop until we have scrapped both the new rule system and the Trad SDA mods.

Crush the new rule system and bring back freedom of speech to this place!!!

They may ban us, but they'll never take our forum freeeddoommmm! You are going a little crazy with this Night, but changes do need to be made. I like to go crazy with many things as well. lol.

Have you seen Braveheart Night? This thread reminds me a lot of that movie. Anyway, I agree with you. Allowing the trads to push their doctrine while we are forced to remain silent is something I will not tolerate.

I find similarties between the laws of the British laws in Braveheart and Fundie rules. Making someone question their faith to death and ultimately driving someone out of the church with the perfection theology does sound as bad as allowing an English lord to sleep with the newlywed wife of a Scottish man.
