Watched the trailer for Supergirl:

It looks surprisingly good. Will definitely watch the show.

While not the best trailer I've seen for an upcoming show, I am curious and will give this one a chance. The fact that it is being produced and run by the same team that has given us Arrow and Flash gives me a egree of confidence that this will be a good program.

Whoever thought of casting Melissa Benoist as Supergirl needs to have their eyes checked. There is nothing special or super about her. Obviously the producer/writer has never read a single Supergirl comic or seen any of the animated movies Superman - Unbound or Superman & Batman - Apocalypse. The trailer presents Supergirl and her friends as some kind of slumber party rejects. Pathetic.

My pick for Supergirl - Nicola Peltz

1984 Helen Slater as Supergirl was pure genius!

Helen Slater is supposed to be Mrs Danvers in the new series, SG's adoptive mom. Her adoptive dad is played by Dean Cain (Supe from "Lois and Clark")

I am REALLY looking forward to this one. I am surprised it is on CBS proper and not their 2nd run CW network with the rest of the DC comic shows.

Not sure I follow the change in her genesis. Instead of her being born on Argos years after Krypton explodes, they have her stuck for 25 or 30 years in the phantom zone where she does not age. And why her name includes her father's given name. Kara El was who I knew her as.
