I had a question that has been bothering me lately. But first a litter back story into the question.
When I was a bit younger (about 8-9 years). I was big into the church and my faith. I would go to church every Sunday, youth groups, Bible studies, etc. And I was very happy and was building a good relationship with God.
Then I met someone outside of the church and we hit it off. The only problem is they were an atheist, so I ended up stopping all of my church activities. Always got poked fun at for "believing that" whenever I mentioned it. We were together for 7.5 years. And in that time I did a lot that I wasn't proud of, that would be constituted as sin. And during that whole time I really wanted to go back to the church, I felt a pull to go back. But never did.
Well for various reasons the relationship ended. And about a year later I got a really strong pull to go back to the church, that was a month ago and I am so happy I did. I missed the fellowship, worship, prayer, etc. so much.
But is it possible to have sinned too much or stumbled by making mistakes and sinning too often in your relationship with God to be forgiven? There are times that I feel like I've stumbled too many times, that I feel like I may be a lost cause in God's eyes.
