Sydney?... Don't make me laugh?! What do you have? A harbour?... A tiny little harbour? We've got a bay that will swallow your harbour 10 times over! Bridge? We've got two!
*Sydney Offensive Action hat on*
Oh I believe quality is better than quantity, and in anycase, the fireworks in Sydney outdoes Melborne by a very large difference...

And also another note, we're a bit hightech by having tunnels and more highclass freeways with state of the art speed cameras, police who have Holdens and Traffic engineers on the standby....

that is, if a traffic light gets knocked over by a truck at 12, the engineers go to that site, that includes the electrical, mechanical and structural, and have the traffic light replaced and fixed by 3.....it's happened a couple of times...BEAT THAT!!!

*Proud hat on*
Bracksie? who is he...the premier...lol............no one beats Bob Carr....everyone knows that....
Again the bridge, not a landmark like ours, we have the Opera House which is in my opinion much more stylish than federation square....and the Opera House is also a landmark....... federation square isn't......

Tunnels and everything?...Are they as safe or do you need a amphibious car to travel under that tunnel?...lol

The Opera House!!!! I couldn't even get a glass of water there when I went to the Ballet!
We couldn't get a parking place to even GO to the Opera House! Had to park in an exhorbitant priced parking place!! Wouldn't whisper the cost!
The Bridge? We crossed it & ended up down a one way street! I will admit you have pretty crackers up there on New Years Eve. *snobbish face on*
BUT!! WE had cracker's in Mebourne too!
Look what you mob up there do to your English Immigrants! They fret for home, so you get them drunk & tell them you've paid their fare home & stash them on the Manly Ferry!
Anyway...the red gums frow better this side of the Murray than they do in NSW. I have peered at them to make sure. With a magnifying glass too.
And the Corella's and white cockies prefer the Victorian side too. They like Bracksie better than Carry. Carry's got a funny nose. Bracksie is handsome!
And...we're closer to Tassy too...costs you more toget there.
Amphibious cars?...Hey mate! Our cars walk on water!

*I know I'm always better hat onObviously it's so highclass that water will affect the slightest of all harmonies....I'm sure melborne doesn't have anything as high class as that.

Oh not to mention, we held the Sydney 2000 olympics. 2000 is a very good number compared with...what as it? 1954?

The fireworks in Sydney always outdoes everywhere else....melborne never even had a consider!

Well at least we had English getting drunk in Sydney for the worldcup...and doing all sorts of weird things....that we call normal.

Oh...you wouldn't want to talk about Bob's physical appearance, his works outshines all his bad points, but on the whole, he is much much more popular, because Sydney is very popular...

And Tassie, I think most people would rather go to Queensland for a holiday, so we are closer to the Great barrier Reef....

What do you mean walk on water? You mean float when you attempt to believe your car is a boat.....like I mean, how many Sydney people would know the difference between a car and a boat compared to Victorians?

The Sydney Olympics!! You held them on the old Animal Slaughter Yards! *erk*
AND, our bus from OUR town got booked at the Sydney Olympics! *oh the shame of it*

And I still reckon we had better crackers on New Years Eve because we couldn't see the screen of the TV for stars! We couldn't even see the Yarra for stars from the crackers! Beat THAT!

And our housing isn't as expensive as Sydney either!
The Barrier Reef? OK! So you're closer...I give in there....But hey! We've got better Freeways. Our's are newer! Bracksie seen to that.
AND...we've got the Westgate Bridge! And, our cricket ground is better than your's anyway.
I'll bet our trams are faster than your's too! You haven't got any!
*Indignant sniff*
AND....we have better meat pies. Can't beat a good ol' Four n' Twenty mate!
What better cuisine is there than a good ol' Four n' Twenty huh?

An' furthermore *sniff* we got class we 'ave!

Guy for victoria....I would have thought he'd be good for South Australia....

Talking of South Australia, is there anyone from South Australia that want to challenge us why their state is better than N.S.W or Victoria?

Bev our houses are expensive because Sydney is better....

Freeways, I don't think so, in Sydney, right next door to us, they've just renovated teh highways, and more tunnels and more highways...we've just unleashed a new highway to be in development next year....and thats not all we have so many new sky scrapers it's not funny...

I was walking to the botanical gardens the other day, and I saw a hotel and I was thinking...wow, when did that pop up....turns out it was very new....and thats not all, there are others in development.....

As far as I know, our olympic park is the best, it's so wide and open, going there for gymnastics is a blessing, the only bad thing is, anyone can see you from a distance of 2km....

Hmm, let me see. Just driving to the BIG roundabout on the Barton Hwy, which I might add should be traffic lights, I go through a minimum of 10 from my house to it. Differs slightly depending on which direction I head. Tis very wearing on the car turning all the time.

Well peoples, heres a few points on CANBERRA which I reckon out do Melb/Syd by a long shot.

* Fireworks - we still actually can buy them and let them off in our OWN backyard, on Queens Birthday longweekend.

* House prices are cheaper than both SYD/MELB and just as good. You get a mansion with a view, pool, tennis court for about a million, not a two bedroom rundown shack.

* We have two bridges over a MANMADE lake.

* We have telstra tower, with a view of the whole state.

* We have our own public Holiday Canberra Day, second Monday in March.

* Its sort of halfway between syd and melb, can have the best of both worlds for shopping, entertainment, weekends away.

* Our pay parking is heaps cheaper, or there is none, its FREE.

* we have heaps of cool tourist attractions that you cant get anywhere else in AUSSIE land. ie War Memorial, Parliment House (old and New), the Mint, High Court, National Musesum.

* And as for resturants and cafes, we can do pretty good too, you can always find a decent cup of cheap coffee.

Hmm I could go on.

We may have a hot summer but at least it isn't humid, can't stand humidity makes it to sticky. As for the cold, its not that bad during the day, and most people's houses are heated well enough that you don't notice to much, at night, just put another blankie on the bed. We really haven't had a really cold winter in two or three years, must be due sometime soon.

Oh, but can you afford 5million dollars worth of fireworks, plus have the world's best pyrotech do the fireworks?

* House prices are cheaper than both SYD/MELB and just as good. You get a mansion with a view, pool, tennis court for about a million, not a two bedroom rundown shack.
Oh but that only lasts for 100yrs, its not permanent is it?

* We have two bridges over a MANMADE lake.
Is it a landmark?
* We have telstra tower, with a view of the whole state.
I'm sure if you had a 3 metre ladder, you can still see the tiny state as a whole....lol...

* We have our own public Holiday Canberra Day, second Monday in March.
DOH!.....Ok you've got that one!

* Its sort of halfway between syd and melb, can have the best of both worlds for shopping, entertainment, weekends away.
If melborne is down there and Sydney is up there, and Sydney is much better than melborne, say the score of melborne is 0 and Sydney is 10, ACT would be 5.

* Our pay parking is heaps cheaper, or there is none, its FREE.
We have skillful drivers in Sydney, so parking is a challenge and a skill.....which could mean that Sydney is more busy.....

* we have heaps of cool tourist attractions that you cant get anywhere else in AUSSIE land. ie War Memorial, Parliment House (old and New), the Mint, High Court, National Musesum.
So do we, we have more...and are better landmarks. People overseas travel to Sydney first to see Sydney, then move on the rest of the rejects

* And as for resturants and cafes, we can do pretty good too, you can always find a decent cup of cheap coffee.

Hmm I could go on.
We have $15 latte's in the CBD, Of course I'd never tasted it...but it's there to show, not only do we have richer people, but richer coffee as well....rather than the plain old Mcdonald coffee, we too have M'cafe

oooooooooooooo Well, we had crackers worth $5 million and 10 cents for New Years Eve in Mebbourne! And...we have all the BEST of coffe ANd tea, which is rich in antioxidants.
And, we have a much bigger harbour! We have a bay! Port Phillip Bay!
And, our drivers are harrassed in Sydney because we have such a problem finding the landmarks! And, when we do we get booked because the parking attendants are watching around the Opera House all the time.
Shopping in Sydney is really bad. And, overpriced.

Actually our fireworks was well over 5 million, but I pulled that number out from last years fireworks....this year it was definately over 5 million
Tourists don't have problems finding landmarks....I wonder what that tells us about Victorians?

And Sydney has a lo of bargins, I bet you were only looking atht the tourists shops rather than the discounted shops

Wellll....not quite so with the shops. My son has lived in Sydney & he & DIL know it very well...sooooo, and, as I would not be a tourist to Sydney, but a true blue Aussie with a family living in the Blue Mountains
there, I was kept away from touristy things & saw the real Sydney.
But, it is pretty, I will give it that much!!
But...I must admit...I rather like Brisbane and Canberra too.
