There's a lot more to art than just looking at the sunny side of life.

I think Stanley Kubrick is great, my personal fav's are Full Metal Jacket and Dr. Strangelove, the movie that I liked the least was 2001. I did see 2001 for the first time a few years ago so I am sure that it was much more impressive when it came out.

Dr. Strangelove and 2001 my favorites from Kubrick. 2001 has something like a mere 22 minutes of dialogue or something like that. It's genius. A Clockwork Orange i couldn't stand. Putrid piece of puke.

I wasn't saying that art was only about the sunny side of life. I was just saying that alot of films gravitate toward the negative aspects of people and society. They also put that stuff on a pedistal and glorify it. Believe me, I work on videos that only deal with sunny-side stuff, and even I get a bit bored with doing that.

I really don't think that ACO glorifies that aspect of society at all. In fact, I think it does exatcly opposite, and that's a major part of the greatness and theme of the film.

I've been a Stanley Kubrick fan for a long time and have enjoyed the majority of his films. My personal faves are Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining. I loved the first half of Full Metal Jacket and thought that his final film, Eyes Wide Shut, was awful. Although I think he stumbled badly a couple of times, I think he could definitely be called a great director.
