WELL, if one is Christian and one is athiesm then that is a solid statement...The word says as much!well when there are two conflicting beliefs they cant BOTH be correct ...
Notice fullness has nothing whatsoever to do with baptism (sprinkled vs dunked), communion, etc.
How very Catholic of you.I am assured that He is faithful to forgive me when I repent. I am assured that when He said I just need to beleive in Him to be saved that I am. I am assured that I don't have to be perfect to be saved and that He will finish the work He started in me.
Ah, yea... you have truth but not all of it. If you did, you would be Catholic.Are you suggesting that we don't have the fullness of the truth because we're not rc's?
Christ IS the fullness of truth my sister, and His spirit dwells in me and makes intercessions according to God's will.
I will say extra prayers for you my sister! remember Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
His servant,
simon
Are you suggesting that we don't have the fullness of the truth because we're not rc's?
NASB
Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Joh 1:15 John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'"
Joh 1:16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.
Joh 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
Col 2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
Col 2:10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;
Col 2:11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
Col 2:12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
2Pe 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
We are who we are because of our relationship with Christ. That is not impacted by the denominations we may or may not place ourselves in. The "fullness of truth" we have is not contingent upon such things.
Notice fullness has nothing whatsoever to do with baptism (sprinkled vs dunked), communion, etc.
So often we make issues out things that ought not be issues and we divide ourselves by drawing those lines..when our unity is Christ...not in denominations.
Regardless of the name on the buildings where people worship I count them brothers and sisters if they claim the name of Christ.
LOL I really needed a good giggle..The full truth is found in the scriptures.. Just as Christ Jesus said it was.. As He prayed to the Father to sanctify us in truth... Then stating Your word is truth.Ah, yea... you have truth but not all of it. If you did, you would be Catholic.
What do you think Protestantism is? Truth mixed with error.
The truth you do have... You didn't know...? It is what of the Catholic faith your particular "Refomer" did not throw out.
The truth is like a big bulls eyes, Mont. The center of it is the Catholic Church and each Protestant church who broke from her is more or less closer to the center which is the truth.
*The* truth is comprised of a series of truths that make up one truth.
Different Protestant denominations each focus on a only one aspect of the truth. Lutherens; faith that saves, Calvins; God's sovereignty, etc and so on.
Only in the Catholic faith will you find all of the truths taught with no error or margin of error, thus the Catholic faith is the fullness of truth because she teaches all of the truths that make up the one truth that contains no error.
Which would be Gods standards, seeing it is a way He communicates with us...I'd gladly be considered not walking in the fullness of truth by mans standards in favor of sticking more strictly to what the Bible actually says.
yep, otherwise, why have the Bible?Which would be Gods standards, seeing it is a way He communicates with us...
Distancing yourself from Truth IS distancing yourself from Christ whether you realize it or not.Distancing myself from the rcc is not distancing myself from Christ. This is a false ideal taught by that denomination and only speaks of arrogance and elitism. Really, it puts God in a box.
I'd gladly be considered not walking in the fullness of truth by mans standards in favor of sticking more strictly to what the Bible actually says.
So says your denomination...wrongly I might add.Distancing yourself from Truth IS distancing yourself from Christ whether you realize it or not.
It is by man's standards that one would believe in "sola scriptura"... since it is a man made "tradition"...
The scriptures must be read in light of Sacred Tradition.

And what about those misinterpreting it? There must be some sort of "miscommunication" between them and God...Which would be Gods standards, seeing it is a way He communicates with us...
but you haven't done that. You've followed traditions as well and teachings that HAVE changed.And what about those misinterpreting it? There must be some sort of "miscommunication" between them and God...
We do not always receive infused knowledge from God when reading the scriptures and we as individuals are not immune from making errors in interpretation. The Bible can not be read as a single novel or always interpreted literally. We need the Church who has held to its interpretations from the beginning of its (the Bible's) formation to guide us.
