  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everybody.

I've been trying to assemble a set of metal shelves all afternoon, but it's been a struggle because it doesn't have directions and I only have a screwdriver, no wrench to speak of. Plus, I don't really understand how to put the braces on so I'm quietly cursing the company that made the shelves and the inventors of threaded fasteners!

Hi everyone!

I just got home from a few days at my aunts house, babysitting my niece, sweetest little girl in the whole world..........except when she's not.........

Plus my aunt is the most horrible disgusting morning person in the world.........the day should not start before at least 9 am and two cups of caffine.

for Matrona..........I had to put up metal shelves. Once.........never ever want to do that again. Now I only buy the pressed wood kind, wood is much cheaper then metal here and lasts longer and is easier to clean from crayons and markers and food and dirt and well, kids!

Sounds a lot like me when I was trying to assemble this stupid computer desk. I never did get the sliding keyboard drawer to work properly.

Whew!!! I finally finished putting the shelves together. I have very little cabinet space in my kitchen, and this will help a lot! Plus, I'm proud that I was able to do it all by myself without any help from my dad, who I've been waiting on for a year to put them together. Go me.

With me the sliding keyboard drawer was the easy part - it was getting the CPU Box stand to fit

How do you get all those quotes posted without having problems with your post disappearing? Are you doing it using windows?

Sometimes when I am typing a long message, I will lose it all. I forgot about using windows and then the cut and paste technique.

There are two ways Aria, but the best way without losing your post is:
1.Open Word, and cut and paste the quotes into that page.
2.Type in the comments you want to make between them.
3.Copy and paste the whole lot back into the posting window. (Remember to resize and reformat your font before doing that.)
4.Highlight the area you want as quotes, and use the quote-wrap icon at the top of the window. (If you want their name to appear, after the "Quote" mark, type =XYZ, example "Quote=Aria". (I can't put in the square brackets in this post, as it picks it up as a quote)

The other way is to directly to cut and paste the quotes into the posting pane, and also use the quote-wrap icon. But then you do stand the chance of losing your post if there's a gremlin.
