Mine has March 18th and 25th marked as Soul Saturdays, along with April 1st.

Today wasn't an "official" Soul Saturday, but Father wasn't able to do the one on the Saturday before Meatfare so we had one today instead. Father lives an hour away and we needed to schedule it on a day he would be in town anyway.

I love the Soul Saturday service, so I was very glad we were able to have one.

Wow - morning all

No chance of getting to Church this morning [ wasn't going to be able to go to my parish anyway - so have to say I'm not terribly disappointed ]- very very heavy overnight snow - no snow ploughs out , and I live at the top of a very steep hill and it's STILL snowing.

Wish I knew how to get a photo on - it's really very nice here and I will be taking photos at times during the day while the snow lasts.

Ah well - I'll do some reading peacefully at home

No we didn't win, but I had an awesome time. . We almost didn't make it to the competition. We had gone all the way to west point acedemy and then one of the vans started to smoke, so we all had to get out and squeeze into the other van, and abandoned the smoking van by a lake. We nearly missed registration, but we made it. We traveled along a road that paralled a cliff where, if we were there a few minutes earlier we would have been hit by a falling tree. And when we were going to the hotel we saw an accident where a car flipped over and the people were still inside but I think they were already dead (I said a prayer for them )

Despite all that we had a ton of fun. At 12:00 pm on friday my friends came into the room I was staying in (at that time I was already in bed) jumped on top of me and sang me happy birthday. At the competition the events were so well organized and I placed within the top 10 in two of my events. The people were friendly, the campus was beautiful, and the weather was warm. We competed in all our events, we bonded and we just took advantage of the great situation, and marveled at the fact that we made it to the states.

I got back home from work today to find a note from my wife that our youngest daughter had fallen at school and broken her arm. She actually managed to break both bones in her forearm just behind the wrist. They ended up giving her general anesthesia so they could reset the bones properly. I've only just now returned from the hospital and prepared something to eat. Poor Daphne has to spend the night at hospital and hasn't really had anything to eat all day.
