  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I do a lot of free downloading on Lime Wire ( Little to No Virsuses) does anyone know if this is part of Kazaa file sharing. After I use Lime Wire I can do a spy check and Kazaa spyware always shows up.

I use Limewire all the time, and my Norton '05 antivirus seems to be fine with it. One thing you need to know about Limewire, though: When you close the page, you need to go to your wordpad and exit from it there, too, or it'll stay open constantly and interact with any other music program you have, like iTunes or WinAmp...

Just a question...What makes LimeWire better than kazaa lite?

I've been using KL, it has no spyware and I seem to find more than limewire.

Really? I dumped KL because it got to the point where my searches kept coming up empty, ya know? I'm having the opposite results with Limewire that you're having. I'm finding anything I want...

Most of the stuff on Kazaa is wrongly named, false, or run out of sources anyway.... Lime wire doesn't seem to have that issue as much. After trying out lime wire for a second time I found that out.

Normal Kazaa (and Grokster) screwed my computer up with spy ware, twice. I had to wipe the computer clean and re load everything both times. After the second time I never downloaded Gorkster or Kazaa again.

Do you use kazaa or have it d/l on your computer?
Limewire is not part of kazaa.

Thank you, I didn't think so. My Spyware Nuker 2005 keeps showing the removal of Kazaa everytime after using LimeWire. I will check into the other possibilities. I am not aware of kazaa being on my system.

There may be some small component from Kazaa left on your drive somewhere that Limewire might be accessing. ??

I've experienced some significant difficulty in this area before when I've removed programs like Kazaa. I had to essentially rip the program out piece-by-piece. Pain-in-the-***

Thank you for the reminder of the Lavasoft Ad-Ware SE. I have been using this also but the Kazaa problem never shows up here. Taking your advise I went back to the Google search and retyped Lavasoft Ad-Ware SE. I clicked onto this and was asked if I wanted the updated version. I said yes and actually was able to receive almost three times the amount of deep scans I was receiving before. Also this new version discovered 24 new Critical Objects which never showed up before. I guess this has taught me to check on this possibility of updates at random in the future. Thanks again!
