the stupid answer: i'm in love with another girl.
the complicated answer: she likes other people and i'm really in love with another girl who doesn't particularly care for me.
the simple answer: we like the sense of intimacy w/o the complications of sex and a relationship that's beyond friendship.

Intimacy IS complicated. And if I were this girl you were in love with and I knew you were spooning with some other chick, I'd be ending a relationship if we were together and not starting one if we weren't. Don't sell you OR this girl short and don't skirt around the intimacy issue either. It honestly sounds like you are using each other. And as for happiness, it's not promised. If you are using someone to be happy, I'd say that is rather sinful as we should be loving other in front of ourselves.

Friends who are girls...sure, I got some cuddle buddies..we're just that comfortable with each other..but the only male I will cuddle that isnt a kid or something will be the man who is my husband..why risk it? And besides, I've started taking my future husbands feelings into consideration even now when I'm not positive who he is. Would I like to know that the man I'm marrying was spooning with someone thats not me? Nope, so therefore, its not something I can do without being a hypocrite..but thats just my own personal conviction

Heh, I think you're misunderstanding SOLDOUT4HIM. The APPEARANCE of evil has nothing to do w/ whether or not the act that has the appearance of evil makes you happy or not. Heck, I imagine a lot of very sinful acts can make you very happy for at least a short period of time. Rather the act will come off to a great many as being of dubious wisdom and, frankly, most people will be skeptical that you all do just "spoon", especially those who do not know you very well or who haven't heard the whole story. And as a Christian this will directly hurt your personal witness, and possibly just as bad, harm Christianity itself as people believe they are seeing a Christian do nonChristian things.

That said, I don't know if I'd say definitively that you are causing great harm to your witness or to Christianity or that there even is an appearance of evil. I only know the excerpt you shared w/ us. (Platonic friends spooning though eh? Man, haven't ever heard of that before.) But I would strongly lean w/ everyone else in that if you haven't crossed that line you're surely straddling it pretty close. And the fact that you even posted a question about it makes me think you are aware of this fact. (Either that or you're just posting to brag .) I would like to point out something that you may not fully appreciate, however. Most, if not all, friends with benefits type relationships, even with minimal benefits as is your case, tend to get much more complicated than either friend anticipated. You may think things are just cool between the two of you, but I would be willing to gamble they are not. It will only take a certain stimulis to bring this out. Again, I do not know you or the situation so I cannot say that with any certainty, but it seems you're playing w/ fire here brother.

I would say it depends on the circumstances. If you're immature and unable to control your passions like most of the people who have answered in the negative seem to indicate, then I would say its a bad idea. If you can control yourself then go for it. However, can she control herself? And, if spooning is purely platonic then is it necessary to restrict it to the opposite gender?
