Science is long away from discovering the ample lush life that is undoubtedly out there...I hope I am able to witness all of the fascinating discoveries that will be found. It is a very intricate process, our solar system...but a glorious beauty she is!

what do you mean by this statement? "the crutch of science"...Science in and of itself is a highly valuable subject of study...containing the basics of all life forms, so I am curious to know what makes you think of it as a crutch?

amie this is true. It can be a very valuable tool of God. Look at the very medicine He has provided. Our very mode of transportation, how we are communicating right now is all possible because God gave us science.
We can still have all the wonders of science and still be completely devoted to God. It is all in how you use it.

I agree the two can go hand in hand...Science is extremely important...and God is of the utmost importance...but still science is sure no crutch...granted without God, none of us would be here, but also without the complexities of the basics of molecular and biological science...none of us would be the people we are today.

I would assume that, whether or not they still practiced religion, their theists would have assumed they were made in god's image, just as our theists do.

They'd probably only allow marriage between individuals with a different number of tentacles. Mating someone with the same number of tentacles is unnatural.

I am here, had some weekend chores to take care of.

What I meant by science as a crutch is what the Bible tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;" Proverbs 3:5.

People lean on religion, science, family, friends, the internet, drugs, alcohol, etc. as crutches. People require something to lean on when they are in hard times, when they feel down, when they don't know why something is.

Why did the sun come up this morning? Lets use science to figure it out.
What do I do when I feel bad? Go to the church and sing and clap.
What do I do when my spouse leaves me? Open up the whiskey and drink all night.

People have questions and they look for man's solutions to them.

God says, " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;" Proverbs 3:5.

God wants us to seek Him when we feel bad, God wants us to turn to him when our spouse leaves us, God wants us thank Him for making the sun rise this morning.

Don't rely on the things of man as your crutch, but lean on God's word.

Just one of the many reasons I'm no longer a Christian; I really didn't enjoy being encouraged to NOT use my brain.

Don't rely on the things of man as your crutch, but lean on God's word.

Amusing. This would be the same "word of god" that advocates violence, cruelty, and misogyny. The same "word of god" that contains numerous contradictions. The same word of god that says that the earth is flat. Hmmm; something's not quite right here.

Exactly how is this a problem? Why can't "once for all" mean once for each world?

Heck, you've already rationalized away the fact that Jesus said he would return during the lifetime of his disciples, so this should be an easy one.

Well, luckily for you, you are replying to a post made in April, and it turned out that the chlorophyll was actually a bit of lossiness in the image quality.

Note that that still doesn't rule out life on Mars.

In the age of easy believism that is so very prevelant individuals think that Christianity is something other than faith upon the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Salvation and being a true disciple of Jesus Christ comes about by a supernatural act of God not by the passing fancy of man's decision to believe one day and not believe another day.

Pride tells a man that if he believes in something greater than himself it somehow reduces his great self importance and stature. The egotist and prideful man lives with a far more narrow world view than the man of true saving faith.
