Sometimes when I think of a profound thought, that I believe comes from God, I'll instantly "forget" it, and it's so very frustrating, so, i will try to "recall" it, but it escapes me...

I live in the "present", my mind is forgetting everything, and I mean "everything" behind me, thoughts, even if it was a few seconds ago...

I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, living in the present and forgetting what's behind me (the past) and living in the present and always going and looking, forward...

So, when these things happen sometimes I would let the profound thought go, and I would say to God "Well, that can be kept just between us" and ask him to remember it for me, then I Said to him "Well, the problem is, you get to remember everything, making you wise, while I forget everything, making me stupid...

I didn't get a response...

God Bless!

You need to give thanks. That is, to remember something of the past.

It's a very good thing then that God wrote down all of the thoughts He has for you.

Hey thats sad but also amusing. I hope it dont hurt too much.

It reminds me of a religious lecture I was at, we have every day dreams, and some where we just (allegedly) *know* its true. Funnily enough this was a shia lecture, and I had once woken up "*knowing* reincarnation to be true, and later in the discussion the speaker - although giving insights into the issue - actually denied reincarnation.

It happens to the best of us at one time or another...

Agree!

2Pe 3:2
I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets
and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

Sometimes as I'm struggling I pray to God real quick for help, and some of them (the thoughts), did come back to me...

Yes, I am very Glad for the Word of God...

The only way I can remember anything anymore is to "write it down" (or get to typing and saving files) and in order to remember it, I have to go back to re-reading it several times over, just to remember...

God Bless!

Dear Neogaia777. As we get older, our memory gets weaker, and we often forget and cannot remember. If we ask God to help us remember the important things, God will help us. Jesus gave us some good advise in Matthew 22:35-40:" The two most important Commandments are: " Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is likewise: love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." The Bible tells us: " Repent and be Born Again," stop our selfish wishes and wants, and change to always be loving and caring. God will see our loving efforts, and God will bless us and help us to remember all our important thoughts. God wants us to trust and obey, let God see the importance of your thoughts, and God will help you to remember them. To trust and obey, there is no better way. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to help us in all we think and do. I say this with love, Neogaia. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Thank You Emmy!

I am getting older, but I wonder about my medication I take, interfering with my memory...

Thanks for the reminder Sister Christian, In Jesus name,

Maybe you can keep things to write something down. I try to do that. Whether it be a laptop, a phone with a notepad function, or even a pen with a small pad and paper for the pocket.

Yes, we can soon forget! Particularly as you get a bit older. Good to record one's reflections.

It is good you do not dwell on the past. I urge you to become more active in discussing your deep thoughts with God; it is a kind of communing, a kind of prayer. Instead of waiting until the future, I urge you to investigate your thoughts in the present, always right now. We know that wisdom is a tree of life for those who embrace her in earnest. She provides more and more until a single tree becomes an orchard, and you a have stored up countless treasures in heaven. The Living One called a disciple away from very important funeral matters to be with Him. In that spirit, I urge you always to entertain your deep thoughts with God now, right now. Always now. Never later. There is a book called Wisdom of Jesus that says wisdom always remains with God. That means that when you seek wisdom in this way, you are drawing closer to God and God is drawing closer to you. Seek wisdom and become more godly, instead of waiting until later and remaining worldly.
