Something Positive I can say about SDA.

They do raise money to help people that are in a bad place, be it in education, lack of food, etc With some of the things I've said about the theology of Adventists I didn't want the SDA's to think I was totally against them.

The "Students" of Southeran Adventist Univ raised some money to help with education in El Salvador - the Prez evidently lost a bet so he dyed his hair LOL... Good show guys - There is much about Adventism I like!

That video saddened my heart... more evidence that Adventist schools are far from the learning centers that our pioneers envisioned for our youth. Did that look like dancing to the Lord? And what was a chinese dragon doing up on stage!

What in the video do you feel shows Jesuit influenced destruction of SDA youth?

...None of which I've observed at Catholic Univ convocations.

Perhaps it's the basketball hoops you can see in the video....

I know that the current President of the British SDA church has nothing against football (Soccer) or cricket. I can't see why playing these sports would be see as satanic, to be honest.

One must understand things sr white said in the light of the times. Consider also that she did not explain the actual activities that were going on during these events. It's not the playing of the game that is the problem so much so as it is the activities going on amongst the participants.

Think of it like this, in modern day football, the athletes, besides trying to hurt each other, bicker, fight, and curse one another. Is that Godly behavior? Many sports encourage adversity among the participants which is not pleasing to God. One should not be engaged in a game that puts the focus of ones mind on how they can best hurt or intimidate the opposition.

Too often individuals will assume that Sr White's warnings regarding entertainment and recreation are blanket statements condemning them as ungodly, when that isn't the case.

In competitive sports, you have competition, winners and losers. Where did the spirit of the competition originate? Then you have the 'starrs' glorified by the media, worshipped like gods and idols.

I like football (soccer) and hockey. I know I get angry when my team loses. Is that Christ-like character? It's something we (I) have to overcome.

I think all competitive sports are against a Godly character.... as DL stated, the spirit evoked from even watching these spectacles can caused temptations and sinful behaviour.

Let me ask you a question, will there be competitive sports in heaven or on the new earth? If not, then we have no place in engaging in these activities...times is short brothers, we must secure all advantage to gain a right character before the time of trouble comes upon us... we know, once it does, it is too late to develop that character.

I'm not sure what normally goes on near Adventist Schools or better said what would be abnormal...

Since you mentioned it, pastors wearing business suits always baffled me... I guess it's indicitive of the state of churches today, they're businesses.

As much as I don't identify with priests, the collar at least identifies them for who they are... I mean, if you were to see a minister outside of church dressed the way they do, would you say 'there's a man of God...a sheppard of a flock?'

Where did we get the idea that Sabbath or Sunday worship was ever about what we were wearing? Why didn't we take the cues from Jesus and His disciples? When my wife and I were attending our local SDA church, we wore nice, clean everyday clothes... it wasn't a fashion show for us. The doctrine of no jewelery is kind of hypocritical when you see some of the suits some pastors and laymen wear as well as the costly dresses for the woman. Not saying all, but just another indicator to me how God's people just don't get it... coming out of the world and being seperate and peculiar doesn't mean wanting to look exactly like the world.

I can agree with that - it used to be a cleric was 'always' in clerics, they were expected to live to a higher standard...

I don't think you are any less Godly or less a Christian because you like Sports at all...
...I'm just saying Ellen classified "the Character" of sports as being Satanic.
