GREEK INTERLINEARI'm not asking about the word Sabbath in Greek. I am asking about the word ἄρα.
keeping
This is what I have been trying to show you!Deuteronomy 4:2
"You must not add anything to what I command you or take anything away from it, so that you may keep the commands of the LORD your God I am giving you."
This is what I have been trying to show you!
Exo 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
This is the rest in the Greek in Heb 4:9.
sabbatismos: Sabbath rest
Original Word: σαββατισμός
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: sabbatismos
Pronunciation: sab-bat-is-mos'
Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos')
Definition: Sabbath rest
Meaning: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.
We cannot edit God's commandments because there is no greater authority than God. Exo 31:18 So no other interpretation can mean anything different, and it doesn't if we carefully and prayerfully study the passages.
Left, remains for God's people seems self-explanatoryThen, there is left a Sabbath keeping to the people of God.
Why does it appear that there is left, meaning, there has yet to arrive, a sabbath keeping to the people of God.
Lets let Scripture interpret ScriptureWhen exactly does this sabbath rest come?
Left, remains for God's people seems self-explanatory
Heb 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;
Its like this
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Remnant means a small remainder of the original- which keep the commandments of God- His version, not what man edited we were warned about Dan 7:25 Mat 15:3-14
Lets let Scripture interpret Scripture
Luke 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
The Sabbath rest is according to the Sabbath commandment, that God gave, both written and spoken, why the Sabbath rest or keeping of the Sabbath as translated in the Greek remains for God's people. God's people keep God's commandments, Rev 14:12 His version, because He is God and there is no greater than He to edit anything God personally spoke and personally wrote, His personal testimony Exo 31:18
We shouldn't try to make Scripture work against what it tells us not to Deut 4:2 Psa 89:34 Mat 5:18-19
We seem to be going to circles, so unless something new is posted I will let the Scriptures I posted stand and ok leaving it with agree to disagree. Be well.
The Sabbath continues for the saints in the New Heaven and New Earth from one Sabbath to another to come before the Lord to worship Him. Isa 66:23 Sin separated us from God Isa 59:2, but the keeping of the Sabbath remains for God's people, because no relationship can survive without spending quality time with each other and God is no different.. So God in His wisdom from Creation, rested on the seventh day, blessed and sanctified the Sabbath, made for man Mark 2:27 so we can spend quality time with God resting from all our works and labors Exo 20:9 so He can bless Isa 56:2 and sanctify us Eze 20:12 because man can't do that themselves, Isa 66:17 we need God.
If we object to keeping the Sabbath now, I doubt one will suddenly want to keep it in the New Earth and New Heaven. God would never force one to do something for eternity they object to so much, which is why I believe His judgment is one of love.
Thats actually not true, but in the context of the Scriptures we have been discussing its been about the SabbathYour entire theology, from the beginning to the end, has to do with the Sabbath.
The Sabbath brings us back to worship our Creator. There are many gods of this world but only one God of Creation, which keeping the Sabbath is a memorial to the God of Creation Exo 20:8-11, so we never forget Who created and us and where we came from. A sign between God and His people Eze 20:20 and a sign of His re-creation Eze 20:12This is a perverted view of the Bible that God does not intend. In the NHNE, there will be no night, so there will be no different days. Day and night are for this universe, this earth, not the NHNE. To say you have an incorrect theology would not be enough force to say how wrong you are. I don't want to be rude, but if this is what you believe, I kinda want to block you. This is so far detached from the purpose of God's word that it borders on fantasy religion.
Here is another one. I don't know the chapter, I think it's around Chapter 10 too. Here is another one:
Every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
Hebrews 10
That's one I refer to a lot. That's the Gospel
A couple verses later:
Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
It is finished
