Why bother?
tulc(tired of seeing his friends driven off)
The forums belong to the person who owns the site. He may agree with you, or he may partly agree with you. But he is the owner of the site, not you or me.
At this point, the owner has not declared that only people who believe in the Nicene Creed can post here, at least as I understand the new rule. The new rule says that people cannot advocate non-Nicene theology. Since the Nicene Creed does not address homosexuality, the new rule does not appear to affect discussion of or debate on this topic, at least not right now. We'll have to see what it means in practice, as the meaning of the new rule gets developed through its enforcement.
My question to you is why you apparently want to eliminate from these forums those whose views differ from yours? You in particular seem to enjoy debating people with different views. I suspect you would miss those of us who disagree with you if we were to leave, because then you would have no one to argue with, and you appear to enjoy the arguments.
There can't be much of a debate if you don't have at least two sides present to debate. A debate among people who already agree would be no debate at all, and it would be pretty dull.
If there shouldn't be any debate, then why are you posting in a debate forum? And why are you debating?Nicene theology is based upon what God's Word says. It would be rather pointless to advocate Nicene Theology without advocating God's Word as the basis of that theology.
Why is it that the pro-homosexual crowd is always twisting what is said to make itself look like a victim?
Ain't nobody said anything about eliminating anyone from these forums. Homosexuals are welcome to post just like the rest of us sinners. You just can't promote anti-Christ theology. But rest assured, neither may any of the rest of us.
You're under the impression that God's people are here to entertain. There shouldn't be any debate about Truth. There should be dialog between Christians who are trying to grow in their understanding of God's Truth. And that growth is not a concern amongst those who don't believe His Word is His Word.
Actually, it was an issue in early Christianity. But that's a bit off our topic here. Why wouldn't Christians agree on this point? Jesus IS God. It was and is never an issue among believers.
Why bother?

Hmmm lets see, if we were discussing communion and it gets down to "Is the body and blood of Christ present when we take the bread and wine?" and one side (who happened to own the site where we were discussing this) says "I don't believe it is, and anyone who believes it IS present is a heretic and won't be allowed to explain why they believe it or they'll be banned!" now what if you happen to believe He is indeed physically present would you think you were promoting "anti-Christ theology" when you talk about your faith? It's the same thing with people who don't believe the creed, they aren't PREACHING anti-Christ, their being CALLED anti-Christ, see the difference? Could you understand then why they had to leave? Basically they are being told "You're welcome to be here and discuss theology.....as long as your theology doesn't disagree with what I already believe!"I'm still trying to understand why folks are being driven off. Is it impossible for Non-Nicenes to converse without promoting anti-Christ theology?
...sure if the only view you accept is your own it's real simple, but the minute you add someone else? It get a lot more complicated.I don't know if it's just me, but things just aren't as complicated as we continue to make them. Yes tulc, I've said it before.
I dont get your offense! He was being humourous! Where is everyone's sense of humour around here?
Are YOU on the front lines? Don't be overly judgmental or hypocritical.
Christians are called to make NO COMPROMISE!
No matter where we spend our days, we will tell of Jesus!
It's not funny. I love laughing. Tulc is funny. That? Not funny. Especially when he pulls a Poe with it.
If he had Tulc's joking nature I might've laughed. Except he's created a character for himself that is like that joke so it's hard for me to tell the difference between a joke and when he's being serious. Maybe if he didn't act like this seriously, I would have an easier time.
...actually I try and avoid sarcasm as much as I can, I don't find it comes across well online. As much as I see some humour in tulc, he is rife with sarcasm.

tulc(I'm sure it's there, but I do try not too) :o
Perhaps you need to hone your sense of humour on something other than sarcasm. As much as I see some humour in tulc, he is rife with sarcasm.
I found the post hilarious.
So was BAFRIENDS comment. If it wasn't sarcasm then it wasn't a joke. You found it hilarious because you atone to what it's making fun of. Tulc makes clean jokes. And here BAFRIEND is joking about being rich and famous. That's not funny. That's like something you'd see on Saturday Night Live just not as vulgar. It's not offensive, it's just stupid and hypocritical.
I think I will just wear my speedos while on the beach. The speedos don't take up much room in the suitcase.
In that case Ill stay here where it's really really cold...(will never go to a warm resort place-Bafriend has scared me from all such places)I think I will just wear my speedos while on the beach. The speedos don't take up much room in the suitcase.
What did I just walk into? lol
