I am assuming you do not accept the Deteurocanon. If your Bible only has 66 books, that is what she is referring to.
You asked: "...dont you know that?"
My answer: No, please elaborate.
OP question: "so you know more than the pope?"
My answer: I don't know.
Theres a lot of people here who think they know everything about the Bible. so i looked up the pope and found this and i want to know who knows as much as he does
"our canon"
Those aren't yours, to claim so is probably the worst act of plagiarism I've ever encountered.
.
Not to mention the binding and the book titles. If you want sola scriptura in its true form you need to remove the table of contents.
I think most of the people in my church know the Bible better than he does.
Heck, I think most of the people in the New Believers' class in my church know the Bible better than he does.
I think I did when I got a Bible without Deuterocanon included...man I got ripped off
I can have a pet monkey write a book, doesn't mean it's content is right or even valid.

I've never met a soul in my life who thought they knew everything about the bible.Theres a lot of people here who think they know everything about the Bible.
Brings to mind this verse in the first chapter of 1 Cor..What's the point of this thread again?
I mean let's be real, even if someone here did have credentials that matched that of the Pope's you'd still think that they weren't on the same level.
His credentials don't mean squat before the eyes of the Almighty. His teachings could be considered genius but that wouldn't matter if his teachings weren't Spirit led.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Was just the verse I was thinking of. I mean it's not hard to see what one really knows about scripture. It's application is the real measure of ones knowledge.
Well, that is exactly the point. Catholics believe the Pope's teachings are Spirit led, in the area of faith and morals. The Holy Spirit will help us understand those teachings, but we cannot teach on our own authority, even if we are sure the Holy Spirit has gifted us with greater understanding than the Pope, because Christ has given him that authority. Ave's point, IMO, is that if you are going to rely on your own interpretation of Scripture, you had at least be as knowlegable of them as the Pope; a brilliant theologian.
