Snake Punishment

Now, the bible is pretty clear in genesis that snakes are cursed to crawl on their bellies, but can this really be considered a curse? First of all, snakes are very diverse, have speciated much and hardly ever had taxa go extinct. Snakes are incredibly successful ambush predators, and owe much of their success to having no legs. In addition, it appears some early scaled amphibians such as ophiderpeton have gone the legless route, as have the legless lizards (which are not snakes).

Can snakes really be considered "cursed"? I don't think so, but I want others to give me their opinions.

For a logic consideration, we need to know what was the conditions of snake before the curse. Did it have four legs? six legs? or 8 legs? or more? What was the advantages?

Are you suggesting that God created the snake poorly? And that the loss of legs is an improvement?

No, It isn't --- It says "the serpent".

The serpent, in Adam and Eve's time, was a beast of the field --- specifically a dragon.

Because as we all know, dragons are very real creatures and they all get about by squirming around on their belly.

This is what happens when you guys think it was a snake. Then, since God cursed this beast, all beasts of that kind became snakes. Thus the snakes we see are supposedly these morphed I-don't-know-what-they-were-but-they-became-snakes animals.

God cursed one dragon, and one dragon ate dust on its belly the rest of its life.

So this beast became snakes (plural). And you say this beast was a dragon..

Yet you say

Which implies the dragon---ONE dragon mind you-- remained a dragon. Care to make to your mind? Or are snakes really dragons? And just where do you get the idea it was a dragon in the first place?
