Six simultaneous suicide bomb attacks

Indonesia is a rising power with a population of 260+ million. It is the largest moslem country in the world. Its economy is growing fast and it is touted by economic reviewers as being a rising power alongside India to join China in the next 50 years as the emerged superpowers.

So the degree of radicalism is a major concern for the nation. It will inhibit its growth politically and erode its capacity to lead within the Asia Pacific region.

Jakarta: A family of six suicide bombers with links to an Islamic State-inspired group - the youngest member of which was just nine years old - exploded bombs at three Christian churches in Indonesia's Surabaya city on Sunday morning.

At least 11 people were killed and 41 injured in the attack, which has struck terror into the hearts of Indonesia's sizeable minority Christian community.

The children who participated in the attack were aged nine, 12, 16 and 18 years old and committed the atrocity with their mother and father, according to Indonesian police chief Tito Karnarvian. The two youngest bombers were little girls.

This is a rapidly growing nation economically. It would be a great concern if this nation became fundementalist
