  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I took apart a fetal pig today...I just did the basic dissection, but the guy next to me went all out..."systematically took it apart", in his words.

My lab partners were both hung over when I did that lab so guess who got to do all the work while the lab partners took turns being green in the hallway?

Were the arteries and veins injected to make them easier to see or did you have an economy model?

Mammals are easy, insect morphology, that was hard.

It's also much easier when the animal isn't alive. Growing up on a farm, I got to be involved in some surgeries at a pretty young age. There was one old alcoholic veternarian that really had the touch. He would be so drunk he could hardly walk, yet he could have a pig open from one end to the other, fix the problem, sew it back up while telling stories, and when he was done he would flip the pig over on its feet and it would run over with the others and you could hardly pick out which one it was. I don't remember him ever losing an animal. It was just amazing. Maybe I would have been a vet, but I didn't think I could handle all the alcohol.

Got to school and people all talked like one could get sick just from dissecting an animal. Couldn't believe it, those city kids.

Economy model...everything bleached bland gray from the formaldehyde.

This is the easiest one of the year...we've already dissected an earthworm and a crawfish, and learned the morphology and taxonomy of all kinds of stuff.

We had a gathering at a member's house. Bratwurst, fried chicken, potato salad, cake, other salads, and more. . .very Lutheran and I'm stuffed! It was very nice!

Here I am dress as Kagome from Inu Yasha for Halloween.

My black hair spray was starting to wear off by the time this picture was taken. It would crumble off in little pieces whenever I hugged any of "my girls."

I'll try that again. . .

Here I am as Kagome from "Inu Yasha."

The black hair spray would come out of my hair in little specks. I had to brush it off of people I hugged lots.

Yes, the short skirt drove me crazy and I kept tugging it down.

[font=&quot]I dressed as a beleaguered doctoral student & expectant father who is working on a dissertation and looking for a job at the same time. I wore ratty jeans, a GAP polo shirt, and the worn out look of a latent coffee buzz under my eyes.

I didn't drees up as anything--I'm too old to play dress-up ...except for church, weddings, funerals, Bar Mitvas and Circumcisions.

My grandson mentioned that there was a large amount of guys dressing as girls at school. Net stockings, purses, lipstick. Bet they had a hard time getting a date later that night.....and then...maybe not............?
