• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. simple prayer needed before i hurt myself

hi,

I tried to research some of the meds i'm supposed to be on, and out of the six i could only manage to decipher 1 and according to one website the side effects include "Abdominal pain, decreased appetite, weight loss, anorexia, dry mouth, early waking, somnolence, dizziness, mood swings, irritability, suicidal ideation, ................."

Again, I've got 5 other meds i'm supposed to be taking during the rest of the day, i'm assuming they will help balance other things .. and there are some contradictions here -> Early waking(which will make me happy!!) and somnolence (opposite) so i guess it depends from person to person.

The point however being, i'm a little scared i might 1. Go insane 2. Get addicted 3.Get worst. So could you guys please pray for that!

Gideon, yes, I'll pray for you!

If you are concerned about your meds, perhaps you could talk to your doctor. Whatever you do, keep on taking them, because they will help if you just persist.

If you do have some weird reactions, call your doctor. Everyone responds to medication differently.

thanks so much, the rest of the tests are over today and i'll get my results on Wednesday, i'm going to get the meds today and start taking them tomorrow. Also, they're only for 7 days? Do you think everything would stabilize in 7 days? I probably should go visit the doc again after that, or record what I'm feeling or something?

I've fallen really behind in my studies, mostly because i've given up even trying now, just waiting for meds to do something.

hey,

its been 7 days since i'm on the meds and they've worked wonders with my brain.

I've got 3 anti depressants, 1 anti psychotic and 1 med for ADHD, the side effects are not so good though, the first 4 days were terrible, i felt drowsy after waking up early, my appetite was bad, and i felt funny in my head, the 5th day onward things started to stabilize. However, i still have some muscle twitching and yesterday my hands were shaking a little too much during my exam and i couldn't write properly!!

Also, the day dreams have stopped completely but i'm not used to yet, usually i would kill time day dreaming but now its like time is slowed down.

I'm going to the doc on monday again, and i'll get my psych test results then.

Please keep me in your prayers.
