Im trying to grasp this.
Right, just meant to say that going to a church that is debt free doesn’t free it’s members from their duty to tithe and give offerings. Blessings

Tithing is an act of praise. I believe God is blessed at the act of praise, not the dollar amount.

If you are selling the house to buy another of similar or greater value, then you are not making an increase on which to tithe.

If you were selling a second property and pocketing the cash as spending money, then maybe tithe on the increase.

In the NT, we are not required to pay tithes of any kind. Paul tells us instead to be cheerful givers. It is simply a choice, not an obligation.

It is more important to volunteer to help others than give money.
