  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been considering joining Auxilium Christianorum (Auxilium Christianorum - Homepage) for some time, but especially after recent developments, have left me concerned. (I won't go into details, but anyone who knows of a certain operation I'm working on here, on CF might have a good idea of what I'm concerned about) However, I've heard people say that, you have to prepared spiritually before joining, because Satan will retaliate, I'm wondering if I should first, focus on the basics of prayer and meditation, before engaging in serious spiritual warfare? What do you think?

this is really interesting, but I can see one caveat; one should also seek to balance their spiritual life so as to see the good that God is accomplishing and rejoice in it.
And to remember that the final battle is against satan and his followers, but that this battle is waged by the armies of Heaven and is led by Christ.
Therefore we should seek first to follow Christ and what He does, If we do that we won't go astray in our zeal to fight satan.

Good point, I think I'll wait until I start my meditative reading of the Bible and the Catechism, before I join.

yep I read an article on that which made a very telling point about fighting against satan. in order to engage him in single combat, one has to turn their back on Christ. not a smart thing to do. not at all.
