I do not believe that for a second any more than atheists can force the clergy to marry them as for marriage being about god he sure as heck has nothing to do with mine in fact I teach my kids to fight Christianity at every opportunity.Yes -One is a union recognized by God and bound by God the other is a man made institution. A believer believes that marriage is holy and that God is part of it. Asking me to go against my core beliefs is asking me to compromise myself before God who I answer to before mankind. I will never support as Godly that which is not. I will also not watch gays forcing clergy to marry them and compromise themelves before God and you better believe they would be forcing it.
Nor would gay people just as it is nor more or less legal to teach kids about homosexuality regardless of whether they can get married or not.People having sex outside of marriage arent marching around demanding that I accept it teach it as ok to my kids and wouldnt be ever demanding in a church that they legitmize it.
The will of the people always trumps gay marriage - everywhere that votes on it - votes against it.
You want the will of people? Stop trying to force gay marriage on them.
Actually no; the gay marriage issue is pretty split down the middle once you take all the statistics and average them out. I did the work already for a class last semester. took me a while, but I compiled the data and found no majority preferance.
And you can't force marriage on someone....well, in Biblical days, you can force marriage on a woman who didn't want it....heck, about a hundred years ago you could practicaly kidnap a woman, pay a priest to marry you, and then legally rape her. this is the kind of country we live in....not to mention the genocide of millions of natives...siiigh....I wish folks would stop using their religious beliefs in order to influence legislative decisions when we have a separation of church and state.
Its already happening so save it. It would get even worse then. We will make certain it doesnt get worse.Nor would gay people just as it is nor more or less legal to teach kids about homosexuality regardless of whether they can get married or not.
30 states have recently enacted bans on it - its split (not)Actually no; the gay marriage issue is pretty split down the middle once you take all the statistics and average them out. Canadas laws are not the same as ours are so the clergy would not have to woryy about being forced to marry those they do not want to nor would I support it. But I wholeheartedly support the fact that if a business refuses to accept their business they should be forced out of business.Thats what they said in canada too when they were fighting for it there and now pastors have gone to jail for even speaking on it - people have been fined for refusing gay wedding photography and printing gay wedding invitations
Our lawa would not allow it.there are tons of militant gays who chomp at the bit thinking they could sue a conservative pastor - so if you believe that really that they wouldnt try it - you arent being honest with yourself.
They are teaching respect and tolerance not the marriage itself or anything about the sex, and parents can opt out of it. I personally want my kids to accept all others but i sure as heck would not want my kids around yours. Also some schools are teaching homosexual lifestyle to gradeschoolers and teaching it as alternative lifestyles - gay marriage is not an ok thing to teach my child period and never will be.
They are just as much my schools as they are yours.Thank you for your concern - its posts like this and others supporting gay rights as being an in my face issue and its attacks on the church that assures i will always be there waiting in line at the polls. Believe it or not i could care less what happens in their bedrooms - its when they want it in my churches and schools and face that I am concerned about.
Good luck with that since the CA Supreme Court will overturn prop 8 and one of these days the US Supreme Court will overturn all gay marriage bans. Its already happening so save it. It would get even worse then. We will make certain it doesnt get worse.
Im sure you will ignore what Jesus said but still here it is:Nowhere do I see Jesus asking me to accept gay marriage
chapter and verse?in fact He says gays should remain celibate for the kingdom of heaven.
Racists also quote the bible to justify their personal prejudice and when they try to justify discriminationPreaching Gods word isnt a sin -
thank you though for this post proving gays demand and do exactly as i stated . Its not discrimination to state the word of God.
What choice? The choice to be honest rather than lie?Do I forgive gays for their choice of sin? Sure do -i am a sinner too but i am not asking others to call my sins ok.
Gays when fighting for it claimed they would not force it but that was a lie - thats the point and they would soon be trying it here too nonstop like they do there after stating otherwise. (edit to add see below post where one insists they have a right to something the people overturned) You better believe they would push it here they are already trying it.Canadas laws are not the same as ours are so the clergy would not have to woryy about being forced to marry those they do not want to nor would I support it. But I wholeheartedly support the fact that if a business refuses to accept their business they should be forced out of business.
Laws cant be changed? Then they would claim it would be discrimination once they got the same exact right of marriage. An activist judge would let it happen like they do things now on their own.Our lawa would not allow it.
They shouldnt be teaching kids sex in grade school they should be teaching academics. As far as parents opting out - teachers are disreguarding that all the time anymore. They are teaching respect and tolerance not the marriage itself or anything about the sex, and parents can opt out of it. I personally want my kids to accept all others but i sure as heck would not want my kids around yours.
Actually there is no way prop 8 could stand up to the constitution. Several times in the past the supreme court has ruled that states cant vote away the rights of a minorityNo they wouldnt and you know it and im sure you know even from reading this thread alone - some would demand it be accepted. I will never support gay marriage ever.
They cant this time. That was the point. The people would have to do it and i dont see that happening anytime soon.Good luck with that since the CA Supreme Court will overturn prop 8 and one of these days the US Supreme Court will overturn all gay marriage bans.
30 states have recently enacted bans on it - its split (not)
Actually they can as they have previously stated that they would overturn prop 8 as it discriminates against their previously upheld civil rights which a simple majority cannot legislate it would take a super majority and then would go to the US Supreme Court who would overturn it on the same grounds which if you did not know is the basic reason why the CA Supreme Court even allowed prop8 at all to get it to the US Supreme Court to overturn all such bans. I will be funny to see how you react when it is overturned. They cant this time. That was the point. The people would have to do it and i dont see that happening anytime soon.
Your research doesnt trump the voters in 30 states sorry. My research involved individal polls, not political legislation on the issue. Representatives elected by a constituency is not a good reflection of the ideals and desires of the populous as a whole. My research involved individual polling rather than what politicians in what states legislated which way.
One can vote but be poorly represented by the representative.
Your research doesnt trump the voters in 30 states sorry.
It will go to us supreme court most likely again it wont be happening soon.Actually they can as they have previously stated that they would overturn prop 8 as it discriminates against their previously upheld civil rights which a simple majority cannot legislate it would take a super majority and then would go to the US Supreme Court who would overturn it on the same grounds which if you did not know is the basic reason why the CA Supreme Court even allowed prop8 at all to get it to the US Supreme Court to overturn all such bans.
