I'm in De about 5 minutes from the PA border. Most of my husbands family lives in Kennett.

Cool. My daughter taught at Elkton Middle School for two years, and then lived in Kennett Square for a year. She loved living in that area. Now she lives in Michigan.

Originally from and grew up in Bethlehem, PA (oh the irony). Now live and work in Japan.

Wow, that is quite a distance from PA. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do in Japan? I would love to see Japan someday.

I teach at a university in Shizuoka (about an hour west of Tokyo) in sight of Mt. Fuji. I love it here. I like to go back and visit for about a week at a time. After that I start to get depressed at how built up it is and I desire to get back to my simple life here.

Cheers

That is so neat. It is really depressing how much this part of Pennsylvania is urban. I like to visit the western part of the state to escape the urban sprawl. What do you teach? I am just finishing a graduate degree at Temple in Philly.

Thanks. I teach English and am the director of the English language program. What degree are you getting? Any plans? Temple has two campuses over here, one in Osaka and one in Tokyo. Very well respected. Good luck after graduating

I am in Downingtown...for about two more weeks.

I will miss cheesesteaks, wawa coffee, and water ice

I will NOT miss high mortgage prices, crazy drivers, and all this traffic!!!!!

I must admit, as much as I love Japan, I do miss cheesesteaks, real pizza, sub sandwiches, Ehmer's sausages, and just about all the other PA food that clogs your arteries on sight.

Currently, I teach middle school, all subjects, in Philly. I have certification in Math and English. I am getting a Masters in Social Work, so that when I retire early, I can change careers to be a clinical social worker doing therapy.

I didn't realize that Temple had campuses in Japan. Oh, to be young again and travel. Sounds like you have a great career.

My kids all live out of state, and I sometimes send them packages of Tastykakes. When my daughter comes home she heads straight to Wawa for a cappucino and an Italian hoagie. She also makes me order pizza from our favorite pizza place.

Where are you moving to?

I grew up in King of Prussia, near Wayne. I went to college at Millersville University, near Lancaster. Then I worked for a while at AccuWeather in State College, near Penn State.

But now I live in Tucson Arizona because I joined the Air Force.

Hello folks!

I'm not far from Philly - I'm in north Wilmington DE, about 5 minutes from PA line.

And yes, the regional foods here are pretty awesome! But no-one has mentioned Scrapple yet . . . And here in DE we have a treat known as Deer Head Hot Dogs - they are so excellent!
