Communication with God is the most important aspect of prayer.

It doesn't matter what you are saying or how you are saying it unless you are in relationship with God and establishing two-way communication with Him.

I agree. It's not whether you spend the time asking for things, thanking God, etc. It matters that you are communicating him. How many times is the answers to our problems to read scripture and pray? That answer can be used almost every time. It always goes back to our relationship with God. If you have big issues in your life, then deal with those in prayer. If you are very excited about how God is changing you, then talk to him about that. It is important to thank God, praise God, confess sins, and so on, but more importantly that you take the time to do it !
