  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Greetings!
There is a man who has come to our healing class that takes exception to the
part of our deliverance proclamation wherein we testify to Satan personally
what the shed blood of Jesus has done for us.
His problem is he can't find any Scriptures that support this.

Second, in our opening prayer we invite the Holy Spirit to come and show
what He would have us do. Experientially we believe we have seen this
happen.
Again, he can find no Scripture to support the idea that we can speak
directly to the Holy Spirit.
Can you help me? Hal

Take that man to the bank!

Nothing wrong with declaring to all creation that Jesus Christ has released you from your sins by His blood. (Mark 16:15) The Lord called Peter, Satan. So either he was one with Satan or he wasn't. Decalare away. And while your at it, remind Satan that his destiny is the Lake of Fire, John saw him there.

You folks believe in the Bible? The Bible says "The Lord is the Spirit." II Cor 3:17. This verse requires no interpretation or special analysis, either you believe the Lord is the Spirit or you don't. Either the Bible is true or it isn't. So when you speak to the Lord you speak to the Spirit (and also the Father). And when you speak to the Spirit you speak to the Lord.

That is speaking of the Holy Spirit. That is, if you accept the Deity of the Holy Spirit. And, we do not speak "to the Spirit"... we speak "in the Spirit."

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:18 niv

We pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus.

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 niv

We pray to the Father in Jesus name. Not through saints. Not to Jesus. But to our Father, in Jesus name.

"In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. " John 16:23

God is Spirit. But we speak not to "the Spirit." The Bible does not teach that. We do as Jesus commanded...

Well, in general I think talking to Satan is a bad idea. Also, is this one of those "I'm going to be healed because Jesus provided for my healing and there's nothing that you can do. I don't have cancer [although I do, but if I say I don't loud enough then it will go away] in Jesus' name" things?

God is the focus of our prayer - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Not satan, or angels (Col 2:18). You talk to satan and you aint praying to God.

From, personal experience, I know the restoring effect of deliverance - but there is not any Scriptural support for it with believers, any way.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

Healing class? Healing is God's sovereign choice today. Are you teaching that if we pray correctly, that God must heal? Even Paul lost that ability after he was established as being from God. In the early church the miracle of healing was given to establish a man's credentials, as to being from God. But, as Paul became better established, this gift to heal was no longer with him.

"Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus. " 2 Timothy 4:20

"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." 1 Timothy 5:23

" For he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill. Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow." Philippians 2:26-27

Now, I am not saying that God does not heal today. He does. I have had a healing myself. Yet, there is no such thing as a healing in the atonement.
A... "divine right to healing." It is a distortion of what Scripture tells us.

Maybe you should show us first from the Scriptures where we are ever told to directly address Satan.

We are never taught to address Satan directly. I believe it's an ego thing by some who erroneously believe that because they claim to be Christians they have power over the Enemy. It is the Holy Spirit living in us that has the power over Satan so address your words to God. There ARE examples of Jesus' followers casting out demons in the Name of Jesus but these demons are Satan's fallen angels not the Enemy himself.

The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit is here to glorify Jesus NOT to answer our prayers. Jesus taught us to pray to "Our Heavenly Father".
