I have a similar thing, but mine is called Hydrosphaleous(not sure on that spelling), where there is excess fluid on my brain and it drains down my spine. Doctors aren't sure but they think this could be the reason behind my scoliosis. The first thing the draining would do if gone untreated would of crippled me, then caused me to loose my sight. But I have what is called a V-P Shunt in my head thats constantly draining the fluid into my stomach and have to be checked every 6months because if anything goes wrong with the shunt I could go into a comma, which almost happened twice already.Kira Faye said:hhhmmm I remember beign tested for it and they doubled checked me....so if I have it its negliagable. However I have syringomyelia which can give way to scoliosis. Thats where there are sacs of fluid running down ur spine crushing and severing ur spinal chord and mine run from C2-T10. I'm lucky to be alive and walking the neuro tested me and sent me for MRI's when I came back after he looked at them he re tested me cause he thought he had grossly misinterpreted my symptoms and reactions in relation to what was showen...neat huh! So my spien is pretty screwy as well! I had a surgery 2 weeks ago to try and help (decompression surgery cause I have chiari malformation which cause the syringo) and if that doesn;t work I'll need to think of shunting! ick!
