For me, christianity is a particularly immoral doctrine because it strips people from their humanity.

What is "humanity" but a zoological term?

Abrahamic religions also have a giant mess of immoral "laws" and condoned practices... Slavery, public executions, homophobia etc.

Is there any scientific research that supports the view that these are immoral? Can their immorality be demonstrated or falsified?

That must be because they are caused by evil sprits. How can science deal with that?

Must be something like that. I've had a bad cold for four days now. The doctor prescribed some meds which I began taking three days ago and I actually believe I'm worse now than I was before I went to see him. Sucks.

Should you not be going to a priest for dealing with evil spirits?

That is very close to my own position. I view religion in the same light as dance, the visual arts, classical music, etc. To expect religion to produce the same results as science is the same as expecting a Mozart symphony to cure cancer. Not the right tools for the job.

For the vast majority of people, religion is an emotional experience that brings them enjoyment and worthwhile social ties. That is a very human endeavour. The only time problems arise is when people use religion as a reason to ignore science.

I'm not Catholic, however there is an Indian tribe close by. Would one of their medicine men do? I think I can see one of them on the cheap.

If you belief in things such as evil spirits causing sickness, you'll have to sort that out without me.

Read the posts. It wasn't I that brought up the evil spirits thing. You should read previous posts before jumping in. I was simply responding to the absurdity.

Not in the context that I'm using the word.
You are aware that some words can be used in different ways, right?

The increase suffering of sentient beings and damages societal health. I'ld call that immoral.

If you don't agree that increase of suffering and societal health damage is a bad thing, then I don't know what to tell you.
