I really enjoy scary games and movies, I wish I could find more good ones. I only have a PC so I haven't had the pleasure of the Silent Hill games, though I hear the third will be on PC as well.
I intend to get the System Shock remake when it comes out.

The scariest I have ever played though was Neil Manke's They Hunger mod for Half-Life. The sound effects will stay with me my whole life.

Silent Hill one through 3 are the best! i don't think resident evil were all thaat scarey cuz all the monsters were easy to kill (sometimes one shot witha pistol is enough) and there was always alot of light, plus you start with a gun. Silent hill starts you off with a PIPE FOR PETES SAKE! and it takes alot to kill the monsters, plus in some areas you need a flashlight to see anything, and you got "the fog" which is in every game.

I kinda wimpy when it comes to scary games/movies. Maybe that's because it seems that the makers equate scariness with gore and carnage. I don't like those kinds. I find Hitchcock's "The Birds" movie quite intense without too much grossness. Much more frightening than a machine gun toting maniac.

Are any of these games you folks are mentioning like that? Scary but not gory or gross?

I have to agree with TCapp on this. My sister used to watch alot of scary movies and I watched them too. Movies like Scream just aren't scary to me. Give me a good old Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th anyday. As for games, the scariest I have ever played would have to be Friday the 13th.

Eturnal Darkness: Sanities Requim. I not a fan of horror stuff but I got this one. I must admit it's one of the best games I've ever played, very scary too. But not in the way of typical horor games, it was scary in scicological ways, you can go insane in this game. Reality blurs.

Though I'm not sure about the game from a Christian standpoint, it has some issues I'm haven't made up my mind about. But if you've played this game I'd love to see what your oppinion of it is. I sopose I'll start a new post soon...
