  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone!
I have a question for y'all. My mom taught me salsa dancing 2 years ago b/c its part of my heritage. I love it, it's a lot of fun. There is just one problem I was forced to salsa at a sweet 16 party a few weeks ago and some of the girls were like "what a (you know what)". I'm not! It wasn't bad either! If anyone dances salsa they know exactly what I'm talking about. Do y'all think I should stop salsa? Is it not glorifying to God? What do you think?
xoxo ~God Bless~

First of all...how did you get forced into dancing?

On a sidenote -- don't give up salsa, it's a fun dance. I've danced it at competitions before.

Though, you could always give it up for mambo.

I agree with the everyone else saying that you can modify the moves that are too sexual and make them less of that and with saying that if you like salsa then don't quit for anything! I am an 18 year old guy and I have been dancing for at least 7-8 years now, and I have had more people make fun of me and call me names because I do different styles of dance that they think that guys shouldn't do. I also happen to be more flexible than most guys and they constantly make fun of me because they know they aren't and try to make themselves feel better. That's exactly what it sounds like on your end with the girls making fun of you about the salsa dancing, that they're either A) jealous or B) mad because you can do something they can't and it makes them feel better about themselves to put you down instead of complimenting you on how well you do. What I'm trying to say is don't let their bogus and snide putdowns keep you from doing something you love. One thing I've always been told which is part of a quote..."Dance like nobodies watching."
