  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ive been trying to learn a lot about Saint Peter. The more I study Saint Peter the more he becomes my favorite saint. One thing Ive learned is that it is thought that Peter was going to flee Rome to avoid being crucified but when he was leaving he ran into Jesus and Peter asked him where he was goign and Jesus replied that he was going to Rome to be crucified again so Peter took that as a sign to go back and so he did and was crucified. Anyone ever heard that? Ive also seen mention of a molding of the feet of Jesus that was left in the mud durng the encounter Peter had. Anyone know where I can see this molding? Any links?

also a side note was Peter ever officially the bishop of rome? I mean I know he was in Antioch and he definatly was the first pope but did the office transfer from Antioch to Rome when Linus suceeded Peter? The reason I ask this is because Ireneus lists Linus as the first Bishop of Rome. Anyone got any insight on that?
