Yea, a bit. And played for decades. I recently pulled the Media Guide for Southern California from 1991 out of a pile of stuff (it is bound very much like the way copies of the Laws were in that time frame, in fact even after seeing it was the media guide I hoped it had a copuy if the Laws). I got to the listing of U.S. national side players and was reminded of just how many I had played with and against.

The 70s and 80s in Los Angeles were a unique time. There was summer pickup Rugby. More than once I played hooker with a U.S. Eagle as one prop and someone who had first seen a Rugby Match that day as the other.

I've played Rugby in England, Wales, New Zealand, Austraila and of Course the U.S. Played with players who were capped players for 4 or 5 countries (not at their prime).

One memory that really shows How Rugby is different from many other sports was during the 7s tournament in Los Angeles from the World tour. Now I had connections. A couple of teammates were on the U.S. squad, one of them had 2 brothers playing for Kenya and my club had ties to the South African team. So meeting an international was no big thing. But I was just crusing through the stands looking for friends and watching the matches when I sat in front of a couple. A guy in a track suit coems up and talks to them a bit. Then I realize he is a member of the Canadian team and they were his parents. Anyone who just happened to be there and who kept his ears open could have met and actually talked to a full international.

Yeah i follow English rugby Union down here in England , But my team - Leeds Carnegie are pretty crap haha
you follow rugby league too ?

I don't follow League so much, except internationals. I hate to admit it, but I do enjoy it more now that the gap has closed and we're beating Aussie more often. The shock WC win by the Kiwis, then the latest 4-Nations final were both really exciting games.

Union is still by far the bigger game in NZ though.

Too old to play and never shined anyway but "World Cup" = Rugby.

I wouldn't cross the road to watch a football (soccer) game but plan to travel from Seoul to Auckland to watch England vs Scotland, drink beer for the rest of the night and fly back the following morning. Saves a hotel ......

Always a good match, whoever wins.

Scotland in the final?? Nice thought - and I will support and shout like hell if they get there!
