hey all,
i am an ex-salvationist.... God called me to a different church, however, the Army is still very close to my heart, and most of my family still attend....
My mum and brother have both been asking me to join them at roots one year and i guess i just want to ask what ppl think of it....
Praying God's richest blessings on u all.

I Shaz.

Welcome to Cyber Corps.

I also spent a few years with othere denominations, but I eventually ended up back at the Army

Guess it's in your blood.

Never been to Roots but heard good stuff about it.

Are you asking what ppl think of Roots or what ppl think of an ex-Salvationist attending Roots? I also am an ex-Salvationist and have been fortunate to live on the doorstep of the conference centre where Roots is held each year. While still a Salvationist I would volunteer to steward at Roots and I carried on doing so even when I no longer attended the Salvation Army. The issue of being an ex-Salvationist didn't arise.

But to answer the former, I would certainly recommend Roots to you (even though I have to confess I didn't attend this year). They have some terrific speakers (I've heard Tony Campolo, Elaine Storkey, Fiona Castle, Nicky Gumbel to name a very few),non-Salvationist and Salvationist alike, workshops and a variety of music sessions. Definitely something for everyone. I don't think you'll regret going.

I think ROOTS is the best thing that the army has done, from a personal oppinion. I am no longer in the army, and I haven't been to Roots for about 6 years now. But when I did go, I had such a great time and it was very uplifting. On the last one that I attended I was involved in the youth side of things and I ran a cell group. This was very encouraging. I would recommend it any day.
