  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Women in Italy are discovering that their names are on grave markers after having an abortion. Prosecutors in Rome are investigating the practice of religious groups who have acquired the fetus' and publicly shammed women who had a legal abortion.
The CBC story here.

Just imagine the legal trouble a hospital in US would get if they were found to be participating in something like this.
It would be horrific; the lawsuits would be rightly severe.

Never mind the lawsuits, the HIPPA violations involved in this would see personal and institutional licenses revoked, fines into the hundreds of thousands on individuals as well as companies and possible criminal charges.

Are they ashamed of what they did.

I'm not sure who you are referring to; do you mean the individuals who tried to shame the women having an abortion or the women who had the abortion?

But here is no penalty to violating a law without a lawsuit. The suit will be central to any HIPPA violation.

The doctors who performed the abortions, who is shaming THEM? What is their punishment?
How does one go about punishing Drs for preforming medical procedures in accordance with the law and professional standards?

Well if the abortions were therapeutic abortions then no one should be punished then

And if they were not but still in line with the law and acceptable medical practice?

Why would women and their boyfriend, husband be ashamed for doing the right thing.

What are you calling the right thing?

Another important question --
would God call it right?

I don't think anything positive or useful will come from shaming the women in this manner. It's not going to bring back their dead children. The fight against abortion needs to come from the pro-active side, before the abortions take place.
