I've been a "fan" of his music for many many years, I own 8 of his albums, not including a greatest hits album. His music touched the hearts and minds of so many, including Christians from all different denominations. He loved the Lord and it showed, not only in his music, but how he lived his short life. It is easy to say Soli Deo Gloria, much more difficult to live it. From everything I've learned about him, Rich was a shinning example of living for the glory of God alone. Free (or about as close as a person can) from the idolatry of materialism. What a particularly rare trait, what a wonderful trait to see firsthand! God the Holy Spirit graciously convicting and empowering a believer to make the kind of obedient sacrifices you just don't see every day from a person, amazing!

His music and thought are both brilliant; I recommend getting a copy of his book. He truly was a man who walked the walk in every possible way. One of the greatest men of God to ever live. I've heard every song, watched every video on youtube, read everything, listened to his interviews (and he said some quirky things, too, things that kinda jar you the first time around). I get sad every time I hear his music...but he's home now. I can't wait to get to the other side and sit down and talk with him.

Rich and his spiritual director Brennan used terms like irresistible love and talked like sibbes “grace greater than sins” etc. he wasn’t a preacher by calling and dabbled heavily in Catholicism but at the end of his IRCa classes he denied converting due to what he called “crucial doctrinal differences” which is Rich’s usual honesty at all costs modus operandi
