Hi again!Would you mind clarifying this question "Is there work that you do that you do just for yourself, and that God has no part in?" I don't understand it and how it doesn't relate to my previous post. Maybe you can elaborate.
Regarding tithing it is on our net income. Anything that is of profit 10% goes to God. So if you tithe on net and receive a tax refund you tithe 10% on that, but if you tithe on your gross earning you do not need to tithe on 10% of the refund as you already paid it, but tithing more than 10% is never a bad thing if you are able.
There are many promises in the Bible telling us we are blessed when obeying. Here are just a few:
You are blessed with the Holy Spirit:
Acts 5:32 And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
We are justified when we obey:
Romans 2:13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
God hears us when we obey:
John 9:31 We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.
Isaiah 1:19 “If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land;
Isaiah 48:18 “If only you had paid attention to My commandments!
Then your well-being would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
The promise of eternal life:
Ezekiel 18:21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
Mathew 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Revelations 22:14 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Promises when you keep the Sabbath commandment:
God blessed the seventh day from Creation. The seventh day carries God's blessing.
Genesis 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. Sabbath will continue forever as it is a perpetual covenant Isaiah 66:23
God promises a blessing of joy for Sabbath keeping:
Isaiah 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
We are blessed for Sabbath keeping
Isaiah 56:2–9
Security in that God knows us through keeping His Sabbath
Ezekiel 20:20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’
We are sanctified though keeping His Sabbath
Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.
Jesus’ promise to each of us is, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3)
I do not obey God for the blessings. He does want to bless each of us. My obedience to Him is because of His great sacrifice for us. To not accept His sacrifice by turning away from sin and obeying Him is how we show God our love. In return He promises to bless us and I have been blessed so much.

So I just listened to the first video you posted by your pastor.
I think it fits well with what we've been talking about.
He mentions how on the Sabbath it's a good time to experience God's creation. Under the new covenant, I like to expand that. I want to rejoice in God's New creations, us!
And our God only wrote one scripture with His own finger in the entire Bible that He also spoke, and that we are told is eternal.
We should give glory to God on everything we do, but God gives us six days to do whatever work we need to get done during the week. Working a job, doing household chores, working out, running errands. We should do everything in six days and use Friday as the preparation day for God's Holy Sabbath (like the majority of cooking etc., washing dishes so you have clean plates for Sabbath etc.)
Yes, you are free to use your money however you wish as long as it is not used to disobey God (gambling, vanity etc.) I was guilty of this previously before giving myself over to God. I used to spend an obscene amount of money on handbags. I ended up selling almost all of them (will sell the rest after I get them repaired). While I can still afford a designer handbag, it is not the message I want to give to the world, worldly things do not mean anything to me anymore. I much rather live a modest lifestyle, so I can dedicate more time to God instead of trying to maintain a certain lifestyle. I am so much happier now that I have been freed of material things. No purse, no designer car made me happy or at peace. I would much rather give any extra monies to my church or a charity to help spread Gods Word.

And I think the spirit would be leading me, though no we don't know for sure until we are in the situation.The Spirit only leads you to the Truth, so if the spirit is telling you "you do not need to keep sabbath" or "it's okay to tell a little lie" or whatever sin the spirit is leading you to break God's laws that is from "the other" spirit, not God's Holy Spirit. Much like in the garden of Eden. Keeping God's laws is how we know we have the right Spirit, the Holy Spirit according to scriptures.
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

I think that fits well with what Jesus was telling Nicodemus about everyone who was born of the spirit. It/They are like the wind, you notice its action but you can't tell where it's coming from or where it's going.Faith is how we know we have God's Spirit. Without Faith, it is impossible to please God - regardless of how many laws you think you obey. Faith will never tell you disobedience is ok.
What I am saying is that what He leads you to do is not always going to be the exact thing He leads me to do, or anyone else.
That means, how you keep the Sabbath is not always going to be how I keep it.
The same as, how you love God(the greatest commandment) is not always going to look the same as how I love God.

Since we don't know everything about a person's past, we can't always say where they are coming from, so we can't say for sure what the spirit is leading them out of, imo.
I think a thing we can do is, big picture, generally speaking, look to see if there is an overall growth of fruit of the Spirit in a person's life. But of course, best to look to ourselves first on that

This is something I'm reluctant to hammer too hard on, because I know that some people will regard one day above another and others will regard all days alike. And this is apparently something that's okay within the body of Christ, although I suppose it's possible to interpret that passage as just something that was temporary, just while the early church was in transition.

If God spoke to you audibly and told you to give some money in addition to your 10% tithe to a particular charity, would you do it? would you feel that he was asking for more than he was entitled to?

What do you mean by rejoicing in God's New Creation every day of the week? Are you referring to the New Earth after Jesus comes? We can rejoice daily now for all of God's blessing, I worship Him daily now, but I keep His seventh day Holy as the commandment states Exodus 20:8-11 which will continue on the New Earth Isaiah 66:23.I hear that the Sabbath is a blessing to you, and that's good.
