• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am reminded, hearing of a neighbor's passing, of the day my Mother went home to be with the Lord. It had been a long few weeks of her struggle with a non-responsive pneumonia. We had the priviledge of being with her day an night singing to her and reading scripture to her even tho she was not always concious. She left us at 4:30 in the afternoon. The chaplin stood by us as she slipped away.. he said 'Ahh, she made it home before suppertime.' That was such a sweet incouragaing statement. A little while later I walked outside to get some fresh air and lo and behold the most magnificent sunset I had ever seen was splashed across the central Texas sky. The nursing home was situated on a hill which provided the perfect panorama of that amazing sky. The thought came to me that Mother was enjoying the Son on the other side of that glorious sunset.

2 years ago this week.... she is still enjoying the Son's presence.

I have received several lovely notes from CF folks. Thank you so much for your loving and encouraging words.

One wonderful thing that occured on the night of Mother's Funeral service... my 16 year old grand son called to tell me that he had become a Christian. He had given his life to Christ and vowed to devote his life to Him. What a joyful way to end that day.

God is so good.....

your mother was very priviliged to have you around her when she was leaving this life...

i always considered death among my beloved people one of the best ways to close the curtain of this earthly world.

may your mother rest in peace..
You are so right!! And we felt so blessed to have had that opportunity.
