Thats is why when Jesus died. we gained victory over satan. Because we are saved by jesus who saves us from sin. Don't rely on yourself to break the addiction. rely on the grace of god. God is the same page with you. I believe with all of my faith this very moment you are free. The difference now is that when you are tempted. (and you will be my friend, its what satan does.) you actually be able to resist it because of the grace of god. rather before where you would easily yield. I know it will be tough starting out. But trust god heavily and keep your faith up. Don't allow the devil to play with your mind and make you think your stuck in this addiction. Your not alone friend. God is here for you. Just give him your full faith.

I'll tell you this in a humble and real way. Cause i just keep it real. First off what is lust. Deep abnormal desire for something you dont have. Some lust for food, money but most sex. Now, When you touch. You lust. I would know i had an addiction to the feeling and the act of it. It is a sin because it cannot be done or i should say enjoyed without thinking about any sexual relations you would love to do. The bible says lust is sin. So nobody can argue. Two, what makes it wrost really is the face that it gets worst. Every sin has pleasure. (The devil is smart like that) But its that temporary pleasure and the after affect is always you feeling like you did something wrong DEEP inside. And the act itslef grows and most ppl go from pictures, to magazines, and to porn, or heck to the act itself. Im no saint but i am delivered and it can happen to you to this very moment. Im telling you this from a "keepin it real" set of mind. God created sex which is GREAT. It is an intimate moment and act for HUSBAND AND WIFE. Yes we have sexual urges and they are not sinful at all. Its the reason we attract to our future mates anyway. The problem is that we have the holy spirit who gives us slef control (among other great gifts) but we eaither deny it, or dont have faith in it. God created sex, not masturbation. If anything Man created masturbation. Lets be real its an act that is praticed and learned and develops. How? After posting my first post in this thread I've been thinking, reading, reflecting a lot about it, and what you are saying here just strenghtens my conclusion, thanks a lot. I agree sexual urges is beautiful in the right condition, for what it's meant, besides that NO. Thanks for a good reply, for info and encouragement.

How long was it since you decided, since you stopped? Ever got back? I mean it's hard to fight against it! During lent I've been fasting as good as I could (about 40 days is the goal for me) from masturbation, although I haven't made it completely. Almost, and somehow it actually helped me. I got away from it, but then you're back. It's so easy to look and that world and think "What am I doing, why fasting, why not enjoying myself and all pleasures there is, "everyone else" is doing it". Although I guess God knows the best for us, and from now on I will try.

Its been like 5 or 6 months. The longest ever in my life and i never went back still till this day. I will deff admit and tell you that it was pretty hard sometimes. The difference though was that, since i was delivered, It became a choice. Meaning i would be tempted and i didn't have to yield. Which i didn't. Scripture helped a lot too.

"Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him. James" 1:12
"Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:" James 1:13

"There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 corinths 10:13

Whenever i had moments of temptations i always meditated/pray to myself" Lord, your grace is STRONGER than the sin. Your grace is STRONGER than the temptations, your own words tell me i will not fall as long as i have and TRUST that i won't fall with you. Therefor i trust you. No matter how much the devils wants to slip me up he will FAIL in the name of jesus! You are stronger LOrd. I WILL NOT FAIL!"

There also this pastor that told me, "when you are tempted rejoice. Don't feel bad because you are tempted, but mainly because 1. you get to exercise your faith, and 2, you will overcome it. than rejoice even greater when you have made it." The devil will always tempt you. Thats why its important to first tell yourself, "God i want to stop but not with my own efforts because i am weak but with your grace and power because it is all strengths of strengths." Its a process, and ill tell you that it wasn't super hard like temped city or anything lol. But there were moments. Don't feel discouraged because you slipped up. God is on the same page as you and is helping. Most ppl think once delivered, never again will a temptation arrive. But like i said with the holy spirit. They will never make you fall. I also put away things that would tempt me. Like changing the channel if i see sexual activity that makes me "think" certain things, getting rid of magazines that were non porn but had too many girls in bikinis, and of not engaging in sexual conversations. That's a long time, inspiring! Hard, but worth it? It seems so. Even though I haven't really been in that situation when it comes down to this sin, (I haven't considered it a sin for long) I still think I know what you mean with having a choice. I'm longing to be in that seat, being able to choose. I almost hope I will be tempted, just to have the chance to turn my back to all what evil is and look to God!

Scripture helped a lot too.

These verses are really supporting, I will read them, OFTEN. I will certainly always remember that "prayer" to, and somehow I just feel enlightened - I do believe in God, and I believe his helping us, I believe his hates sin. If he exists, sin exists, which also means that we shall be able to overcome sin in his name - so I will - if not, which I doubt, then we are the biggest fools in history, and sin doesn't exists. Seem like a win-win.
