  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lol man, I'm sorry. I have a song on my Zune called," The harlot of Revelation." It is entitled this after the adulteress mentioned in the book of Revelation. However, a (and I apply this term loosely to him) "friend" of mine saw it and shouted in the middle of the lunch room," Guys, Ty listens to evil music!"
It frustrated me, but I didn't care.
However, is a song worth the loss of someone you care about? I don't know why she's dating a non-christian. This is due to the fact that no one I know that does not share the same religious beliefs with their spouse is happily married.

Ah okay, I gotcha.
Hmmm, perhaps he is. See, I don't go to church anymore because almost everything they taught was a lie, aside from things that were actually out of the Bible and not opinions. In fact, every holiday that is "Christian" like Easter and Christmas are absolutely pagan in ever sense of the word. Easter originates from the whole story of Ishtar (Nimrod's wife). It's all crazy. Christmas is celebrated on the day that the day of the sun god is traditionally celebrated. It's all crazy.
Christianity's not something I hold very highly in my eyes anymore... Pastors tend to have major issues themselves as well...
So, he might be telling her something, cuz it's just a song, I mean seriously.

hey
this is only my opinion so it's not like it's set in stone or anything and you can disagree
it IS only music but i think christians (at least where i'm from) really beleive in the power of music. i was saved during the musical part of the church service and i sing in my church's worship team. i think she's worried about if the power of the music she considers evil is influencing over you.
i'm no love guru so i can't really give any advice except to maybe talk to her about it and come up with some kind of compromise without slaps and threats of hell but i thought that hopefully this might give some insight on why she was so upset by it.
hope this helps, even just a little!

Isaiah 40:31
But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

No sorry I meant if you were reading the bible you could listen to music aswell..

You okey?

no/yes

In the past two weeks God has been seriously changing me, ever since I got rejected

It turns out I was suppressing my personality, and spending less time with God in order to fit in with the girl I liked and her friends. But ever since i've been rejected I've turned into such a Jesus freak

and then No, it hurts a lot knowing that your not good enough for someone.

Aww.. Is she a christian?
Well.. That's the first thing I would look for when finding a girlfriend..
I guess it will be hard to change her..

Good luck, you'll need it..

The thing is, I'm a passionate person, either you do or you don't sort of person, and apparently I'm way, way too affectionate for her. Which is a turn-off for me, because I can't really restrain my emotional side.

She's not Christian, but I think God wants me to help her find him. I heard a voice in my head, Jesus told me that he wants me to help her find him.

Maybe that's why God made me, to be a Jesus Freak? Some people dance others sing, but I love God and I want to tell other people about him.

Yeah man, not gonna lie... I find it odd that she's so uptight about what music you listen to but doesn't care that you're not a Christian.
I mean seriously, I listen to maybe 1 Christian band... And they've got more of a Jewish slant anyway, since the guy's parents were Muslim and Jewish. However, I find more meaning in non-Christian music than in Christian music. Most Christian music ( to me at least) seems somewhat hallow, it tends to sound the same and the lyrics are not complex or deep at all. Once you've heard one mainstream Christian song, you've heard them all. In my opinion, at least.

You know that Jesus as God, the Trinity and other things arn't explicit in the Bible and largely come from the influence of greek thinking upon the Bible. The Bible itself doesn't claim to be inerrant, perhaps only the Old Testament.

My point it that there is more to following God than what you seem to say here in my opinion.
