Really disappointed T.T

Hi

Im a new SDA.. I just joined the forums yesterday.. Thinking that through the board (Trad Adventist) I might find some thread that would inspire me and motivate me in my current faith..

Guess what? I found posts casting doubts to our beliefs...

Well, this posts will led new comers to confusion (like me)...

I thought this board is for the fellowship, for sharing and encouraging others (that have the same faith)..

I thought that this is against the forum rules.

You are completely right in your assessment and I have shared in your disappointment. I came to this forum to be uplifted and edified but unfortunately, there are many that do not share our faith that come in here to 'stir the pot'. Most only stay a short while but there are a few 'resident' scoffers that stick around. My suggestion to you is to steer clear of engaging these people and to pose questions/respond to only those that are clearly rooted in the traditional Adventist doctrines. I would caution you against thinking you can sway any of the detractors of our faith through straight testimony. You will find yourself going around in circles....

K4C, Stryder, OnTheDL and myself are true brethren that will gladly answer any thing you might ask with an Adventist understanding....

Welcome Keyboard! ECR, Keyboard. my very best friend tells of an older lady grapping her by her arma nd pulling her aside when she got baptized, and whispering in her ear not to follow people, always follow God.

She has remembered that to this day. I give that adivce to the both of you also. people are going toquestion, especially ina n attempt to work it through for themselves. Everyone is going to be on the same page, at the same time. Knowledge and relationship comes to us all individually. That is how God deals with us all, Don't be discouraged or disappointed. Keep your eyes upon Jesus and your grow in your relationship with Him.

Also, a helpfulthing is praying for godly friends. That is what I have and it is truly a blessing. But know even int hat we are not allin the same place or even agree all the time, but we can all discuss and encourage each other to keep the faith.

Please remember there are those of you who like to "bait" by posting threads that are sure to be debated by both progressive and non-adventists alike. Personally I consider Adventists brothers and sisters in Christ, but sometimes jump in to question obvious discrepancies in a post.

I have seen other SDA forums where only extreemly conservative posters are allowed to participate, if that is your thing.

if I may ask you one tricky question, you said you are new to adventism, would you say you felt closer to the church or to Christ?

Welcome to our forum!

In an ideal world/church, it'd have been great to find all like-minded fellow believers to grow spiritually and fellowship together akin to that of heaven.

But that day shall not come except there comes a falling away first. Such is the condition of the church in the last days: rich, in need of nothing, poor and wretched, but sadly blind to their own conditions. They call themselves Jews but they are not, they are the synagog of Satan.

The church is God's fortress. His city of refuge, which He holds in a revolted world. Any betrayal of the church is treachery to Him who has bought mankind with the blood of His only-begotten Son. From the beginning, faithful souls have constituted the church on earth. In every age the Lord has had His watchmen, who have borne a faithful testimony to the generation in which they lived. These sentinels gave the message of warning; and when they were called to lay off their armor, others took up the work. God brought these witnesses into covenant relation with Himself, uniting the church on earth with the church in heaven. He has sent forth His angels to minister to His church, and the gates of hell have not been able to prevail against His people.

Through centuries of persecution, conflict, and darkness, God has sustained His church. Not one cloud has fallen upon it that He has not prepared for; not one opposing force has risen to counterwork His work, that He has not foreseen. All has taken place as He predicted. He has not left His church forsaken, but has traced in prophetic declarations what would occur, and that which His Spirit inspired the prophets to foretell has been brought about. All His purposes will be fulfilled. His law is linked with His throne, and no power of evil can destroy it. Truth is inspired and guarded by God; and it will triumph over all opposition.

May you take comfort and courage in these words in knowing God has permitted His church fallen into such deplorable condition and yet He has chosen some, a little flock, unto whom to reveal His secretes of things which He prepared for those who love Him, and puts them into the trials of fiery furnace to perfect their faith that they might shine forth His love to the fallen church!

True, Ricker, but you know when our end-time prophecy being that most of the world will be so diametrically opposed to our beliefs that they will seek to persecute and kill us, if we can't take questions or even some occasional baiting, how will we stand in those days of persecution. And how much of a discussion are you having if everyone is agreeing ALL the time. Now they could call it prayer meeting, [advanced] Bible study, but discussion that isn't.

As JohnM says the best advice is to keep your eyes on Jesus.

Ok and by way of correction, in my first post to this thread. The sentence:

Is supposed to read:

Hopefully all of us have the same faith. We may differ in the finer points of doctrine, but I would hope that none of is questioning the faith of another.

Wanting to debate points is fine, but there's a section for that. I believe they named that thread "Discussion Zone" or something like that. The problem is that we can't discuss certain things amongst ourselves without it turning into a debate with others that disagree. We should be able to fellowship with like minded believers without always having to defend what we sayto those who don't agree with us.
