  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone, so I decided to start this thread because everyone has questions and I thought maybe someone here could answer them.

A little background for my question, I have alot of trouble sleeping at school but I seem to sleep fine at home. Its not that I don't try, sleep just doesn't come to me.
Ok, my question is, does anyone have the same trouble as I do?

Feel free to post any questions you may want an answer to.

Hi erinlynn,

Could it possibly be the mattress that you're sleeping on at school? Or perhaps the temperature of your bedroom?

I slept pretty well when I was at my previous school, but I'm not sleeping as well here. I think it's due partly to the fact that I am not as active here, and I find that the more active I am (or the more I exercise), the better I sleep. Also, perhaps some of it is due to stress and anxiety.

I hope you can sleep better!

in Him,
Iris

I'm used to falling asleep in places that are unfamiliar to me (spending a year as a couch drifter helped with that), so I don't exactly have that problem...

Here's another random question for everyone, though. Why is it that whenever I know there's a test coming up, I study and study and know the material for sure, but when I get to the test, it's like I never studied at all? Where does all the information go? :\

I have regular touble sleeping too. I just have learned to deal with it. I used to sleep better in highschool, but college is more stressfull. Also, if you work out before you go to sleep it makes it harder to sleep, like I've heard you should work out at least 4 hours before you go to bed.

It didn't occur to me until today that the temperature of our room might affect the way I sleep. Thanks, I shall experiment with that and see what happens. Thanks for posting guys, I appreciate the help!

Could it possibly be that you get anxious about the test and you loose all of what you have studied? It happens to me all the time, I can know the material and suddenly not remember it when the test comes around. I suggest a good nights sleep and a really good breakfast. It might make you more alert and able to function in your class.

I dunno if any of ya'll know who Joel Osteen, he has about a 30,000 member church in Houston, TX. But he talks about, in one of his sermons, about a college student that studied and studied and when it came down to taking the test he forgot all the information he studied. Pastor Joel told the student he was "expecting the wrong things", and he needed to change his expectations. Joel's sermon is about expecting good things. Most battles are won in lost in our minds. If you keep telling yourself you can't do it, then it probably won't happen!

blessed,

Bella
