Hey there! It's been a while since I have posted here. Hope everyone is ok. I have a quick question though, and wouldn't mind getting people's views on it.

I use to be in the Army (my parents are officers). I left about 7 years ago. I have alot of issues that I need to deal with concerning the army, but I won't go into that. I have since been confirmed and have been to a C of E church.

Recently, over the past 3/4 months, I feel that I have been drawn back to the army. Not only me, but my husband feels a little bit drawn as well. We have been going in the evenings to an Army meeting quite abit now...I think that I have surprised myself.

Anyway, my question is, what do people think of becoming an adherent whilst still going to another church. the idea is that we would go to a C of E church in the morning, and then to an army meeting in the evening. This way, my husband doesn't lose out, and neither do I. I would never be able to become a soldier again. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Definitely nothing wrong with becoming an adherent and still attending another church. I guess you want to make sure though, what your adhering to. I don't know what it's like in England, but in Australia at least in my church we'd welcome anyone, even if they weren't adherents.

Thanks for your comments. I don't think that I could become a soldier again. I have been there, done it and got the t-shirt (or so to say!) I wasn't ready to become a soldier when I did, and I feel that I have let the army down as well by coming out of uniform.

I would still like to attend another church and take the bread and wine whilst being an adherent (hence, another reason why I can't be a soldier). What are people's thoughts on this?

I think attending both would be a wonderful idea. If you are already a member at C of E, would it still allow you to be a "signed-on-paper-adherent"? (as the Army would not be your only church).

Ask the officer, but even if it wouldn't allow you to, who cares... if the Lord calls you to both, serve in both. We had a worship team from a United Church recently. The United Church is in a wealthy area, and there is no more growth room left - even with two services on a Sunday morning. They are keen on evangelism, and want to serve in our Corps which has LOTS of growth room. Their leader had been in contact with the Army in Holland, and is very keen. The kingdom will benefit, we will benefit, and they will be blessed.

Pray.
