  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a question(s), but, its not a simple yes or no, trust me, if it was a probably wouldn't need help on this. But before I ask, let me give you a quick overview of whats up. Basically I was checking out photos of women that are not appropriate at all, little exposed. So, anyways, I had a friend long time ago tell me to pray for her and not lust after her, that really got to me! Because it was like, wow, I like this girl enough to lust after her but I dont like her enough to pray for her eternal salvation? So anyways that kind of hit me there.
Now, I am NOT trying to go around this at all. My question is this. My whole position was pray for the person, not lust after that person, etc. However, I made a video about this woman who exposes herself. Now, the video combines of 3 things.
Decent photos of her.
Powerful Christian affirmations (such as, shes save, follows god, etc)
A Christian pop song (to give more of an effectiveness as if she is singing)

The whole point of me even doing this video is for me to put it up online, as I do this, people will see this video and pray for her, and while watching the video people will believe she is saved (the video does show that effect pretty well)
However, I have a couple of concerns before posting it up online, a couple of things. Here they are:
If I put the video up, people will see her nasty videos on the side of youtube where it says "related videos" TEMPTATION!
If I put the video up, people may be curious and say "I want to know who I am praying for" and they may put her name on the google and they lust. TEMPTATION!
If I put the video up, Christians can actually pray and believe that this woman is saved! And prayer and believing breaks the devils chains and allows Gods Truth to enter in, and thats my Main Purpose!
If I put this video up, God Will use it for Good Holiness, but, the Devil Will use it for Bad, as he always does.
If I dont put this video up, (because I am making videos of certain celebrities, as them following God.Same concept to believe and pray for the Business people, music people, entertainment people, fashion people, models, actors, etc.) then I am discriminating the female models who need to be saved. Just because they are models who expose themselves does not mean they do not need people to pray for them, in fact, they are probably the ones who need it the most! So, I make videos for everyone else, but, exposed models?
If I put the video up, then people will email me asking if I am trying to justify looking at inappropriate photos if I am going to make a life changing video for that person. Which I am not trying to justify that, you and I both know that, however, how can I response to that?
If I put the video up, people will say I am going through the bad (bad photos) to do good (the life changing videos) so they will ask, is it okay for me to do what you do? Go through the bad photos to do the good? How do I answer that?Because I have to go through the bad photos, to get the decent photos to make the life changing video. And that video is for people to believe and pray for that person.
If I put this video up, people may say "Hey! You hypocrite! Your trying to go around what God says, and your trying to make looking at inappropriate photos correct" Not true, but, how would I respond to that?

Now, I know this is a pretty tough thing to deal with, and to answer, however, the whole point of what I am doing is for saving the person. To have people, in the body of Christ, gather and pray for that specific person. We all know that the power of prayer COMBINED with believing creates miracles. And that is what I want, to create miracles in peoples lives, for they could be saved and follow God! Not only a specific female model, but everyone!

All Christians who have experienced the power and miracles that believing and prayer does, know that this is no different, and that change, miracles, and impossibilities are possible when you pray and believe with your all. The videos I do, make you believe the person is saved!

So, please, what advice can you give me? Please, give me a descriptive message to help me out with this! Thank you!

So here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D84MxDGIlWw
Tell me what you think overall. And, please, please, read the description of the video before or after viewing the video.

Thank you for that advice. However, that is not what I asked.
The reason I am putting so much thought into this is because I do not want to make a dumb decision I want to be prepared and get Christian advice, this is why I came here. Now, please, dont make me think coming here was a mistake. Because I thought Christians were suppose to help eachother not just say "your thinking about this too much, look for a healthy hobby" Thank you, but, please, this is not what I asked.

Hi, only God knows what the future holds and how to rescue the world from the mess His people make when we make the wrong decision. You shouldn't really come round here asking a human to give an answer on God's business. However I'll give you the answer God would have me give you: you need to ask Him.

As you rightly point out, if your motive is not resonant with Gods (and you do clearly have some doubt), then you need to pray to God and seek His answer when He speaks to you (if you're a bit rusty on hearing His voice, you can always consult the Bible).

It's your decision to make, one of x billions of gazillions of decisions you make in your life, and from my experience, the power of belief contains the power of miracles. If you believe the message is pure it is most likely it will be seen purely, however if you believe the enemy has the ability to use it for his purpose then your actions will give life to the enemy and fuel to the fire.

You seriously have to ask God on this one and be sure you're doing what He is pleased to have you do!

Remember no-one can convert someone by praying for them, it is only when we are ready to accept God as He truly is, that we will be saved (saved in the sense of knowing Him personally).. No-one but God can actually grant the gift of life you know

Having said that, we can pray for God to send angels to speak to your friend but it is always up to her to make her decision by exercising free will. I think if you have faith like that mustard seed Jesus mentioned, your own prayers will be totally sufficient if the time is right for her - her salvation is not your decision to make, but your plea and case is evidence that Christ resides in your heart.

Exactly! Now Im not saying prayer will convert her, however, we do have to pray for those who are unsaved. And, its not that I have doubts, I just want to be sure.
I dont want it to seem like just because the Devil can use this to his advantage, that it makes it automatically wrong, it doesn't and I could prove that. Everything that God made Holy, the Devil corrupted it. Does that mean what God made was Evil? No! He made it Holy, but the devil turned it. So I know what I am doing is Holy, but the devil will turn it, you know? But, thanks for the advice man.

Weird. Im over here trying to pray for people to be saved and to let them see the light, and see God and his glory and someone over here says I have issues, I seem like a stalker, need to consult a shrink, pray for my own salvation and my "desires of the flesh" (wow). Funny. I have ALL of these problems that he mentioned because I want people to be saved!? Are you serious!? Wow, now we know this guys true colors

One thing I've learned (not sure how it applies, but it's a response anyway), is that God doesn't usually use fear to achieve His result, but He uses Love. Fear in context of "Fear the Lord thy God" means do not disrespect Him, which I don't think you would do regardless of your decision. We are called to be witnesses and testify of the truth. Beyond that, I think our roles in life are specifically unique and we each feel our talents are helpful in our own special way. Your talent is apparently that which unites people in prayer, it's a nice gift to have and I wouldn't be afraid of doing what you know to be an act of holiness.. I would guess any of your fears are likely due to the enemy who perhaps seeks to confuse you or stop you but I wouldn't be too sure unless I was actually in your head, you know what I mean?

Yeah, you make good points. I don't want to get into this a little unsure you know? I want to know exactly, 100% on what to do and see it clearly. This is why I came on this Christian Forum, for Christians, such as yourself can help me. But so far, no one has helped me. One person gave me an answer that didn't comply to my question. Another person is way off, and attacks me for wanting people to be saved, but you are the only one who is helping. Yes, still confused, but you are helping.
What do you mean exactly when you say "I would guess any of your fears are likely due to the enemy who perhaps seeks to confuse you or stop you but I wouldn't be too sure unless I was actually in your head, you know what I mean?"
are you saying you want me to give you mroe information?

No, I get it that a person may not see exactly my POV, however, I make it clear enough that I am making videos for people to pray for the lost to be saved and to follow God. And he attacks me on that? That really speaks. Attacking someone who wants others to be saved.

OK, I watched your video and it started to make me a bit uncomfortable. I could put my finger on why...
It seems very self-righteous and a verse came to mind about concentrating on the log in myown eye before commenting on the splinter in anyone else's. Singling her out like that doesn't feel right to me. Didn't Jesus say 'Let he without sin cast the first stone'? By all means pray for her but I wouldn't post the video. Maybe what you will have for God from this is your testimony of how you overcame looking at such pictures?
You asked for opinions and thoughts ... that's mine, from the heart. Not a criticism, just how I experienced the video myself.

All I'm saying is that you're grown up and entitled to make your own decisions. Christians develop a personal relationship with God (who you should be asking), and this comes through learning God's true nature by reading the Word and hearing what He would have you believe.

Scriptures teach us that the Word is the seed, that when it is planted in good soil (are you good soil? I would believe so), it grows into a personal relationship with God and we no longer need to seek answers from the Bible because we can get our answers directly from The Father by asking Him. Jesus says "no-one comes to The Father except through me", so it is Jesus' spirit which we hear when we read the Word and He facilitates us to personally know The Father.

I feel that instead of asking questions of men with short lifetimes, you need to open the book, pray to God to answer your question, and exercise that pure faith you have to get the answer from Him. Just keep reading as long as it takes until you get the answer you seek.

It's not my place to sit in God's seat and tell you "do this, do that", but my place is to represent God and direct people to Jesus. I suggest you just open the Bible randomly and being reading until you get the certainty you need to make the 'right' decision.. expel the uncertainty of not knowing what God would have you do, and replace it with the certainty that Christ is with you no matter what you do, because your heart is upright..

What do you mean by it seemed "Self-righteous"?
and "concentrating on the log"?
I am not singling her out. What IF I showed you 15 other videos of people from different fields for example, will you still feel that is singling out? No, thank you so much for your opinons!

Ah yes but judgement is often reciprocated by the victim, life is a continual process of learning for all of us. Christ has the most elegance when He corrects us, the true gentleman we ought strive to become

Thank you friend.
I came here to ask questions because I know God could use people to help other people. God doesn't do all the work you know?
So this is why I came. But thanks so much my friend.
Best advice to date.

Yes, it would still be singling out people, just in a series. You could make a video that deals with the topic of praying for people in a broad way rather than targeting it at an individual - just an idea.

Nice idea.
But, if you focus on one person in each video series, as you said, (you said series) then wouldnt that be more powerful since a bunch of people are praying for that specific person at one time?
