The arabic Quran needs to be interpreted to be understood even in arabic. - Which version of the Quran do I need to study? And why can that version not be translated into English? Is English that bad?

If Arabic is not your native lanaguage you should study Any Qur'an that has the Arabic script, Arabic transliteration, and your native tongue.BTW, the Arabic Qur'an does not need to be interpreted, it is self-explanatory, really. English is not bad but, to say the least, many Arabic words are hard to translate effectively into english. Examples: hijab,khimar, khumar,fitnah, jihad,kaffir,etc....How about finding out what these Arabic words are translated as in English so you can understand what I mean?

Btw the definition of muslim lands are any lands where the majority of those in the government or in power are muslim or profess to be muslim.

So what if this changes? Are they no longer muslim lands? According to your jihadd you can kill and attack people that attempt to make it so and that's just want muhammad did. He attacked other lands and 'claimed' them as his own.

I gave you a political answer because your questioned necessitated one. Muslims believe that the world belongs to Allah, and that the world should be governed by Isalm. Now if some muslims happen to think this means a physical conquest by physical beings(muslim human beings), so be it, but this is not found in the Qur'an.That should answer your last question:no where does it say that muslims have the right to ocuppy and conquer vast lands. It does say that muslims should strive(jihad), not war, to establish Islam(submission to Allah's will and peace) on earth. I see nothing wrong with that.

This is also same for the Christian belief. We have a right to defend ourselves, as does any other nation or religion. I find it strange that many people, especially christians believe the actions of a few to be the belief of many, especially when it comes to musliums.

I am the most sceptical when it comes to christians because I am one and therefore know what we believe. I am less sceptical when it comes to other religions because I do not know fully what they believe. Especially when Jesus makes the comment that do not pick out a speck in some one elses eye when there is a board in your own.

about the the Qur'an versions:
There is no such thing, you have a translation between your hands which could help you to better understand the book, but you can't read from it when you pray, you have to recite in arabic which is the language of the Qur'an. The case with the bible is a total different thing.

Hello brother,

because you can't translate, edit or add to the word of God.

Also king, reverts to islam or muslims whom are not arabic are only required to memorize any three or four short surah's ( chapters ) from the Qur'an out of necessity to pray.

My definition of a prayer is an expression of the feelings inside your heart to God. I guess to me this means that a prayer transends language and even words. But if in those words that you pray the feelings that you wish reveal to God are in them, then that can be just as powerful a prayer.

The situation is political, so is subject to change, so if lands change hands then they are no longer muslim lands. Two example: Palestine was always A Cannanite land. The Hebrew Israelites migrated there. Almost all the Cannanites are now Muslims or Christians. So Palestine does not belong to the Jews, But to the Christian and Muslim Palestinians.Politically, it belongs to the Jews, just like it politically used to belong to britain and others before that. Kashmir/Jammu,like Pakistan, was an originally Hindu-dominated land. The Hindus are now all muslims in both lands. This is not political change, but religious change, since the SAME people occupy the lands.

Actually, zico did not fully explain salat to you.But I doubt that it was his fault.

Salat transaltes to "contact" and can be thought of as WORSHIP to establish a personal contact with Allah.It is obligatory. Du'a is another form of worship, and can properly be called prayer.This is voluntary.Other forms of ibada, or worship, can be music and singing, which are not included in prayers or in the masjid, and reading of the Qur'an and committing good deeds, which can be done anywhere and anytime except during salat.

 You see what worries me with Christianity and Islam: God does not tell either of them to go forth and conquer the lands. But they did and do in the name of their God. And you are right I did ask a political question. I am strongly opposed to mix and match government with the State.
If the world belongs to one God, and if He is God, He could run the government Himself. It seems however 'earthling' jump ahead of Him, thus making themselves and Him questionable. Submission to God can be done two ways; passively and actively. You can tell: Here I am, look at me, I have submitted to Allah and you can too; or you say: You have to submit to Allah. - Since you think you follow the true God you are in both instances justified. After all you are doing me a favor finding Allah. (Not you you, you the third person)
