Could someone please tell me the name of the King during Samson's rise and fall with Deliah? I know it's not Saul because he had not come into power yet. I'm assuming it's a non christian since Saul was the first King for the people appointed by God. I thank you in advance for the information.
May you always walk with Grace!

There was no king. Isreal was lead by God in this period. Judges were annointed by prophets. Samson was just one of the Judges. The people of Isreal looked at the other countries around them and felt that they would be stronger if they had a king.

Read 1 Samuel 8.

1Sa 8:4 So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.

1Sa 8:5 They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have."

This is just what I thought however our Bible Study teacher asked this question and after reading and rereading Judges I could not find an answer for him. Like I said I knew that Saul was the first King appointed by God for the people but when I said that I got the impression that was not the right answer and wanted to check with others. Thank You for your response.

Perhaps I mis-spoke earlier.

Jdg 13:1 Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, so the LORD delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.

Jdg 15:20 Samson led Israel for twenty years in the days of the Philistines.

Technically, the king of the Philistines would be the king since they ruled Isreal.

This is a possibility. However, I do not think the Bible tells us who was ruling the Philistines at this time. Correct me if I am wrong.... Been awhile since I studied Judges.

The Bible is silent on this subject. Josephus doesn't say either.

Perhaps one who wants to test your knowledge of the Bible. It dousn't sound like anyone shouted out the answer.
