Quennith Tyferras
Name: Quennith Tyferras
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: Sal Kadedin
Age: 25
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 127 lbs
Appearance: Quennith is somewhat average-looking, though she has definitely attractive qualities. She is well-built and strong of arm, and has rusty red hair and blue-gray eyes. There is a certain seriousness about her she previously lacked, though.
Clothing: Quennith dresses to blend in with the local populace, though she rarely wears dresses. She always wears some kind of bracers, though, marking her as an archer.
Personality: Seeks knowledge, first and foremost. (Where else could she have learned to shoot like that?) She is quite adept at gathering information from people, enjoys conversation, and can never pass up a challenge to her archery skills. Though formerly quite unreligious she is now beginning to discover her faith... along with her love for Mikel. However, she remembers well what misfortune befell Teglon and Isliel and fears that the same kind of thing might happen if she became romantically attached to Mikel. She can be quite prideful, and it would get her into a lot more trouble if it weren't for Teglon's influence.
Profession: Intelligence agent; minstrel and sharpshooter
Alignment: Sal Kadian Intelligence, with Church sympathies.
Weapons: A longbow of fine craftsmanship, assorted throwing daggers, a blowgun and a light crossbow, although she never carries all of them at once. She also has a dirk for a melee weapon.
Abilities: An excellent marksman with most distance weapons, she has less aptitude with melee weapons. Besides her aim, she is also a gifted singer and writer.
Fighting Style: As an archer, Quennith obviously tries to keep her distance, although she can also pull off a point-blank shot. When it comes to melee combat she simply tries to dodge out of the way as much as possible so she can extricate herself from the fray, but if that's not an option then she has a few dirty fighting tricks she learned from Tendra.
Background: Quennith grew up in a fairly middle-class family, since her father was fairly high-ranking in Intelligence and the Sal Kadedin military. She received a good education, picking up musical skills with ease, but found her calling with Intelligence, following more or less the same path as her father. (She had previously known Tendra, but she met Isliel because it fell to the healer and Tendra to show Quennith the ropes.) Her guise as a harmless minstrel was quite advantageous for their purposes, plus her excellent marksmanship-- learned from her father-- ensured her ability to defend herself.
She has known her good friends Teglon Mersedis and Mikel Gensai for as long as she can remember. The Mersedis and Tyferras families have had a long-standing friendship lasting several generations, so Quennith basically grew up with Teglon as a surrogate brother, and she met Mikel when her family took in the Gensais after the house of the latter burnt down. The two hit it off almost immediately, and the friendship has continued since. Throwing Isliel into the picture made life even more interesting, especially with the romance that developed between her and Teglon. Quennith has worked with the healer/Intelligence agent on a number of occasions and found her pleasant enough to deal with, if a little strange on occasion.
This whole thing with the (not-so-)Lost Key has turned Quennith's life upside-down, though, as everything she thought she knew has been called into question. This has had the unexpected effect of revitalizing her sagging faith, though: seeing the evils of the Zantukites firsthand has galvanized her into turning back to God. It has also caused her to question the very nature of her chosen occupation...
Miscellaneous: Uhhhhh... not much, really.
Quirks: Quennith likes to practice her music each night if possible, and for some reason dislikes using spoons. Also, incense makes her sneeze, but she has no problem burning candles and finds them relaxing.
Objectives: Now in Peria, Quennith's main objective is to find Iruen before the Zantukites and Shardalonians do, as per her assignment from Intelligence. She would also like to find out what's going on with Peria's ruler, but for now that is outside the scope of her mission. That'll have to wait, though. Finally, she is concerned about Mikel's unnatural interest in the Zantukites and hopes nothing will happen because of it, but knowing Mikel's knack for troublemaking, something almost certainly will...
