Psalm 83


Psa 83:1 KJV "A Song or Psalm of Asaph (a seer). Keep not you silence, O God: hold not your peace, and be not still, O God."

Psa 83:1 KJV "A Song or Psalm of Asaph (means gather together). (1) Keep not you silence, O God: (2) hold not your peace, (3) and be not still, O God."

• Psa 28:1 A Psalm of David. Unto you will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if you be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Psa 28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy oracle. Psa 28:3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. Psa 28:4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Psa 28:5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

• Psa 109:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hold not your peace, O God of my praise; Psa 109:2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. Psa 109:3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. Psa 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. Psa 109:5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Psa 109:6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. Psa 109:7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. Psa 109:8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office (Acts 1:16-26). Psa 109:9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. Psa 109:10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

Asaph

1. 1Ch 25:1-7 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was: 1Ch 25:2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king. 1Ch 25:3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD. 1Ch 25:4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth: 1Ch 25:5 All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. 1Ch 25:6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
2. 1Ch 16:5 Asaph the chief, and next to him (1) Zechariah, (2) Jeiel, and (3) Shemiramoth, and (4) Jehiel, and (4) Mattithiah, and (3) Eliab, (4) and Benaiah, (5) and Obededom: (6) and Jeiel (7) with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals; 1Ch 16:6 Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God. 1Ch 16:7 Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
3. 1Ch 25:7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
4. 2Ch 5:12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets

Psa 83:2 KJV "For, lo, your enemies make a tumult: and they that hate you have lifted up the head."

Lifting up the Head of War

1. Job 41:34 He beholds all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

The Enemy Confederate Against the Jewish Nation (Matt 11:25)

1. Psa 10:6 He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. Psa 10:7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. Psa 10:8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places does he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. Psa 10:9 He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net. Psa 10:10 He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

The Hidden Ones

1. Psa 78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: Psa 78:7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: Psa 78:8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
2. Psa 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Psa 27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above my enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
3. Psa 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

5. Psa 31:20 You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Psa 31:21 Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city. Psa 31:22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you hear the voice of my supplications when I cried unto you. Psa 31:23 O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD preserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer. Wanted Extermination of the Jewish Nation (Ezek 37 Great Army of Israel)

1. Psa 82:1 A Psalm of Asaph. God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods. Psa 82:2 How long will you judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
