Proverbs 14.1 What do you do to build your house?

Proverbs 14.1 "A wise woman builds her house, while a foolish woman tears hers down by her own efforts."

For all the women out there (men, feel free to toe in about something your wife does that "builds your house"), what do you do to build your house?

Do you make a conscious effort to build your house? Which things, both spiritual and physical, go into your building? *By physical, I mean such things as creating a peaceful environment. Which of your daily activities do you feel help create that peaceful, prayerful "home"?

I help to keep my husband grounded. I help to keep the peace. I do my best to encourage others in my home rather than tear them down. I help to support my family financially, I am helpful, I try to be an example of consistency and care. I try hard to keep my family communicating honestly and authentically with each other. I try to create a safe haven....

I took it literal and since he has PTSD, I try to make our home as sanctuary as possible by keeping it clean, having a cozy bed and comfortable livingroom with more light soothing colors, candles, food and drink on hand that are supposed to promote relaxation, multiple ways to play music throughout the condo, plants/nature on the balcony, big book shelves, devotionals to read, security measures and most of all the 2nd bedroom is his office where he keeps all his tools and computers and personal things for hobbies and I don't rule over that room so while the rest of the house is decorated and organized a certain way I don't go in his room and tell him how to take care of it... anything to make him feel safe, comfortable, relaxed and (since he grew up sharing a tiny room with siblings sometimes sleeping on the floor) like he has his own space

I'm the moderator and mediator between my husband and son (two polar opposite personalities).

I have a no-tolerance policy for pointless arguing, fighting, or nursing grudges in our home; if you've got a bone to pick, we're going to pick it, deal with it, and move on.

I try to make sure everyone feels loved, noticed, cared about, and valued.

I build my house by understanding that I'm blessed to be a blessing. God has blessed me so in turn I can bless my family and I try to do so with a cheerful heart.

She likes to make dinner meals so that we can all eat together and talk about our day
She likes to have TV-Movie time so that we can all watch TV or movies together
Last movie night we watched GREASE (Granddaughters pick) never get tired of watching that movie
This month I get to pick the movie and I am leaning in the direction of American Graffiti, Forest Gump, or Jungle Bookall three are great!

She backs me up, promotes, and sometimes leads in every spiritual situation

uhmmmm ok sure-
it's 950 square feet, it's on the 3rd floor so you have to walk up all those stairs, there's no elevator, there's only one bathroom and you'd have to sleep on the lumpy futon couch but sure be my guest

I feel that it is my responsibility and my joy to be a help meet to my husband and to build up my household. I encourage my husband in both word and deed. I help him with whatever he needs. I work to meet his needs physically, mentally, and emotionally. I show him great respect within our household and to the outside world. I lift him up daily to my heavenly Father and give thanks for him. I do my best to make our home a place of rest, tranquility, and peacefulness. I am able to do these things so easily because he truly loves me as Christ loves the church. He is my everything!
